"We are concerned about Sri Lanka's severe socio-economic situation," Suzuki told reporters.

Sri Lanka must accelerate talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on a bailout, while all bilateral creditors, including China and India, must gather to discuss the issue, Suzuki said.

There is no such concern.

The IMF is a predatory international loan shark.

Creditors have 1 concern - getting their money back with interest.

Sri Lanka won't be in any situation to begin paying back anyone for at least 10 yrs. What they need is 100 locals and 10 "creditors" to work on an economic solution for a growing economy that ends without taking everything the country has. At least 50% of all profits and revenue need to stay in Sri Lanka. At least.

Try spending some money to help Sri Lanka instead of the Ukraine money pit.

Sounds to me that japan will be filled to the brim with Sri Lankan “interns”.

Print more and give it to Sri Lanka. Essentially the only way out is substantial debt forgiveness and a proper overhaul of the Sri Lankan economy. some of their recent economic measures have been a little bit stupid.

They do have a good ESG score though.

If printing money were the answer, Sri Lanka has its own currency to do just that.
