So this is one Japanese government effort I am fully in support of.

Chinese people living in Japan should be able to live freely without fear of coercion or retribution from spies for the commies of the CCP. That’s likely why a good number of them came to live in Japan in the first place.

Chinese authorities have dismissed the accusations and said the facilities are volunteer-run centers that help citizens renew documents and offer other services

Doesn’t matter what the front for it is, if the allegations are true then this should be stamped out of all freedom loving countries, and Japan.

reports that alleged that the Chinese police were targeting Chinese nationals living abroad and pressuring some to return home to face criminal charges.

No way, Jose.

Let’s stamp out CCP infiltration in a thorough manner.

Finally we are waking up. China is nobodies friend. We saw how they treated British Chinese when the demonstrated outside their embassy. THUGS! Time to get wester factories into friendlier nations or return home with tax incentives.

Im surprised no one knew about them. Seems like it would be an easy thing to detect.

If they fatten the purse of the right politician detection becomes harder.

Only now after other countries have made it an issue, suddenly Japan …..us too. I am all for getting these vile stations closed down. But I’ve read about this sort of CCP ruse in foreign countries for at least 6 months.

"....volunteer-run centers that help citizens renew documents and offer other services...."

Sounds very doubtful and very dodgy.

"The so-called Chinese overseas police stations simply do not exist."

Whenever the Chinese govt says "so-called", we know they are lying even when there is overwhelming proof of the lie.

There are photos and videos of Chinese Police in cities around the world. It is one thing to be there with the local govt approval and quite another to be there without it. I don't know how secret these are, if at all. But if they convince someone of Chinese ancestry to enter, then prevent them from leaving when they want, that's illegal detainment or kidnapping.

Last time I went to the US - Hawaii - the pulled me aside, probably because I hadn't been to the US in a decade and haven't filed a tax return in a similar amount of time. They took a few minutes to confirm my identity and I was free to go.

Being Chinese is luggage one carries forever, wherever one goes. Be thankful if you are not.

Not been secret for along time, (hint Japanese intelligence Service)

The Chinese are lying

If they are har they can be used to abduct Japanese citizens as well.

The government here should check into them thouroughly as they are the chief enemy of our nation atm.

Who can trust the Chinese, they are very crooked! It's a shame the government is trying to control people as if they own them. If the chinese have these special police station they should be kicked out and China should pay fines!.

China has dismissed the allegations and on Thursday its foreign ministry denied that such police stations existed.

Stop Chinese KGB Activity

This is true. A friend of my office friend had an encounter with the “secret police”.

Why is Japan so slow in catching on? This has been in the international news for months.

We should pay attention to China and N.Korean activities. Yes

We should also pay attention to South Korean abuses, crimes, Unification Church. Yes.

The LDP needs a new bad guy to distract the public because all of their scandals with Shinzo Abe has the old people seeing red. Apparently, the usual bribes to get the old people in the country side to vote is not enough at the moment.

The government in Tokyo is investigating a report that China has set up covert police stations inside Japan, amid similar checks by authorities in European countries, the United States and Canada.

Go get'em!

A friend of my office friend had an ….

lol … you lost all credibility by this statement!

Yes China might be having secret police stations but until we see clear evidence it’s all gossip and rumors which people nowadays just love to do and this is just fuel for conspiracy theorists. Oh Btw, America has CIA secret offices all across the world in every country. The UK, Japan, Iran also have secret bases in many many countries. Ever heard of the idiom “ Pot calling the kettle black “!

"it would be unacceptable if there was any activity that violates Japan's sovereignty".

Like when North Korea abducted J nationals and was made to pay for it.
