Is this another $15M, or collective dementia?

It's the Japanese way of dealing with problems. Just throw money at it and hope it goes away. Surely there are more proactive ways of dealing with terrorism than just throwing money at it.

What would you suggest that Japan do?

What would you suggest that Japan do?

Stay the hell out of anything to do with the middle east for starters.

If the country is not attacked, then use that money to help the people of Okinawa, Fukushima, Iwate, and Miyagi for Shinto and Buddhism sake.

Since when has throwing big money at the ME ever managed to destroy a large terrorist organization? Examples?

What happened to the $200 million that was promised? Now it's down to $15 million? ISIS already achieved their objective.

aviator, that's right, blame the victims ...

To the average individual, $15.5 million may seem like a lot. But, as far as military spending goes, it's just a token gesture.

So Abe's little foray into the big league of international diplomacy has cost 2 lives and $15m (give or take the $200m he promised on his trip to Israel). He'd have helped the situation at no expense to Japan in terms of lives, money or it's international standing by doing some thinking, shutting his mouth and staying at home. So $500m to burnish Japan's image and wipe it's wartime wrongdoings from the history books and $15m to help combat terrorism? Why even bother?

If only Japan didn't have a quadrillion yen debt, they could contribute even more!

200 million are for medicine and food, etc to give in yeafs. This new money is something else. Japan is not sending manpower. Time is different, Robot era now, Not too much money so can;t be Boeing. So,e kin of dromes? The one you can buy in model stores.
