So the Japanese Government has all this money but does not offer more assistance to Japanese nationals who lost their jobs? Or to Internationals who have no full time contracts with companies? How can this be?

Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga's cabinet decided Tuesday to disburse 1.14 trillion yen from reserve funds for fiscal 2020, mainly to increase subsidies for coronavirus pandemic-hit sectors following a one-month extension of the latest emergency declaration.

The funding includes 880.2 billion yen to be given to local municipalities so that they can offer financial aid for restaurants and bars that comply with requests to close early, with state subsidies of up to 60,000 yen per day available.

How about the hardest hit "sector" in this pandemic, the working public?

2.68 trillion yen remains in the funds.

That's not actually true. There is no money in the reserve funds. The govt creates the money when it marks up the accounts of the recipients. 2.68 trillion yen is merely a number appearing on an account statement.

I see quite a few “ businesses “ created in the restaurant/ bar sector since the virus got a serious problem. They now receive in some cases 1 million yen more than their anticipated sales. And sales are not profits only. So, they make very nice profits just turning on the lights and going through the motions.

established businesses before April 2020 should get assistance, others not and no one should get more money than their highest pre virus sales. And must keep their staff employed as before.

It would be easier for the Japanese government to help more if our economy wasn't in stagnation for the past 3 decades before Covid-19 hit, with a massive debt already. Let's not talk about that.

"reserve funds". What a joke. The current national debt is about 225% of GDP. Over a quadrillion yen. And climbing. Japan is the canary in the coalmine for how governments and central banks react to any economic or other crisis. Print money and borrow.

If the whole economy was bars and restaurants this silly idea would work fine, but it isnt is it and it doesnt does it ! ! ! !.

Who let politicians make stupid ideas and put them into practice ?

How about the others who business and livlehoods are struggling because of stupid and dopey politicians making stupid and dopey decisions? Any support or assistance for them ? Nah didnt think so.

60,000yen x 30 days = 1,800,000 according to my calculator, some of these bars and eating places wouldn't make that much ever ! Small ramen joints with 5 seats, how many bowls of ramen to return that kind of money, c'mon man, Wake Up !
