Oh wow, so now it's back to beat and bully China, shame on our leaders and doing it face to face to over a beer perhaps?

I sure hope there are some big changes in the Indian government at the next national Parliamentary election. Mr. Modi is much closer in disposition to Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping than any other leader of a major democracy.

Quad can do nothing to China as long as Biden in the White house... Look at Afghanistan... Who is going to trust the Biden leadership??? only the his blind worshippers ... Not any one in Japan, Australia or in India..

If Modi or BJP is gone, then the next ruling party in India will pro-China. As we speak, there is a huge socialist movement of Indian farmers going against the BJP's corporatization of agriculture. Socialists in India gradually gain a foothold in many crucial parts of India. Socialists will definitely maintain India's usual neutrality policy but will be closer with China.

Even if BJP is in power, India won't fully commit to the QUAD because they don't want to lose friendship with Russia.

Very unwise , making a meeting without China.

"I sure hope there are some big changes in the Indian government at the next national Parliamentary election."

I also hope so but I doubt that will happen. The opposition is weak, disunited and fractured and many Indians are now too addicted to the cocktail of fake nationalism, Hindu chauvinism and Modi's PR machine to vote for anyone else.

What exactly do you know about Indian politics? Socialists have already been well entrenched in Indian politics going back many decades. Most of these socialist leaders had more antipathy towards China than Congress and BJP national leaders.

The only parties which were pro-China once upon a time were the Communist parties which ruled a few states like West Bengal and Kerala but they were never a force to reckon with at national level. Even these parties are now anti-China because they recognize that China is now communist in name only.

Poor old China getting bullied by a group of nations. Not like China deserve it right? China never bullies and beats on other nations does it.

Very unwise , making a meeting without China.

Um what? Does China include the US when it sits with Russia and plots against it? No it does not.

Your comment is just fantasy land stuff or made to make readers laugh very hard. I dont know which.

The more meetings the Quad has the more that can be planned and achieved. More military exercises in the International waters of South China sea. More is good for the region.

I don't think Russia even factors into their decisions wrt the QUAD. India has been moving away from relying on Russia for a long time. Their dealings with them over the reconstruction of INS Vikramaditya as an aircraft carrier, Russia's strong arm tactics on payments, years late delivery and the ship subsequently failing sea trials left a bad taste in their mouths. So has their dealings with the Russians on co-producing the SU-57 and the long turn around times for any aircraft component returned to Russia for repair (no air force is happy when their SU-30 is parked for a year waiting for the Russians to repair the radar and return it). They are buying mostly US, French and Israeli weapons and sensors now. INS Vikramaditya will be fitted with a version of Israel's Barak air defense system instead of a Russian system. They are buying Boeing P-8s for ASW, arming them with Harpoons and are co-producing a French diesel-electric submarine. They turned to Fincantieri of Italy to assist in the design their next aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, which is on sea trials now.

The talks will be about China, North and South Korea, I feel South Korea will never be a trusted Allie when it comes to China. South Korea have no real plan for their auto industry. Their electronics industry rely on chips from Taiwan and rely on a lot of local help to keep things running smooth from China. I can never see North and South Korea reunified. But I can see China absorbing North Korea and do some sort of deal with South Korea leaving it has a political zone similar to old Hong Kong before China try to take over Taiwan by force. North Korea would be way easier because the rural pollution ( 75%) would give no resistance or help the China forces. I will be waiting for the ridicule for my G O political comment.
