tense diplomacy

To hell with this glass-half-full thinking! It's a wonderful opportunity. Rise to the challenge, Japan!

Japan already has a challenge to rise too. The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant debacle may come back to haunt Japan on the worlds stage so to speak.

Confusing, East or West Ukraine? Suspicious, Abe changes the peaceful constitution and now goes for this.... The UNSC was developed out of the League of Nations. Japan and hitler were the reason the UNSC started.

Hope when issue comes up with human rights violation, history, or nuclear plants etc., comes up they don't throw a hissy fit and threaten to stop funding.

In a world where we are all supposed to embrace democracy, the idea of a security council with a VETO vote is absurd.

A true United Nations should see the council abolished with member states getting a certain number of votes based on the populations they represent. Say a country of 1 million gets 1 vote, one with 50 million 50 votes and so on. The world as a unit votes on a motion and it becomes a matter of numbers whether or not the motion is passed.

If individual nations should embrace democracy, why not the United Nations?

Many nations favor the stability of a man with the iron fist than embracing democracy

Including the one with the most millions of people who don't get to vote

China will block japan at all cost. The Japanese reactions to UNESCO acceptance of China's Nanjiang massacre has strengthened her will to retaliate Japan's attitude of depising China's stance. Many countries in UN perfer to support China overa japan and they understod the row of Nanjiang massacre
