I wonder what abe gets from going along with these lies,

Why should the Abe government rush into giving a knee-jerk support to the action by the U.S., the U.K. and France when there's no clear-cut evidence that Syria's Assad government launched chemical attacks on its own citizens? Is this Abe's calling present when he meets with Trump this month?

-6 ( +11 / -17 )

Of course Abe supports the strikes. Because he knows the goons & henchmen in Pyongyang are quaking in their boots.

No clear evidence? You really need to read more, Russia killed a defector using uranium Russia killed hostages using a nerve gas then just recently used a nerve gas to try to kill another defector and his daughter . So the evidence past history would hint that Russia has no compulsion using a noxious chemicals on children, civilians anyone actually. To be so morally currupt does take some work.

Japan and PM Abe are behind USA in their strike on Syrians. The world is now waiting for the Summit in two weeks of PM Abe and Trump. They will be busier now, before agenda was North Korea missiles and Japanese Abductees. Now, another talk will be about Syria, and how Japan can assust USA.

Todays action will help PM Abe gain public understanding. When Constitutuin is changed,Japan can send Military to help US forces in Syria. Trump will be happy with Japan.I hope.

Abe told: "We understand this action to be a measure taken to prevent the situation worsening further."

Let's see Putin will understand Japan of Abe going further and too far.

Something getting worse to: Japan is eager to make progress on its territorial claim to a chain of Russia-held islands which has dragged on for decades. Abe hopes to advance the issue in a summit in Russia next month with President Vladimir Putin.

Well done PM Abe. Well Done! President Bashar al-Assad is thug. Here is the evidence of the Chemical Attack by Assad:

1)  The World Health Organisation says that local health authorities in Douma, with whom it is cooperating, confirm that on the day of the alleged bombing they treated 500 patients with the symptoms of exposure to toxic chemicals. It reports that "there were signs of severe irritation of mucous membranes, respiratory failure and disruption to the central nervous systems of those exposed".

2)Other evidence for the gassing of civilians is cumulatively convincing: large gas cylinders, like those used in past chlorine gas attacks, were filmed on the roof of the building where most bodies were found. Local people report that Syrian government helicopters were seen in the area at the time of the attack. Such helicopters have been used in chlorine gas bombings in the past.

3) Blood and urine samples from victims of the chemical attack in Syria over the weekend tested positive for a nerve agent and chlorine gas.

Next week ....

Abe: Hey Donny, nice shot.

Trump: Thanks. Oh, you were talking about the tee. Any comments on Syria?

Abe: Nice shot. Will Russia do what they promised with Syrian chemical weapons now?

Trump: We can only hope. Hope I don't slice the next one as far.

I wonder what abe gets from going along with these lies,

Are you implying that somehow Assad and Putin are completely 100% honest?

The chemical attack continues to gain evidence as being an act of aggression on the part of the Syrian Regime! Also, as a close ally that supports and is propping up Assads brutal and horrific government Russia is as much to blame as Syria itself. The WHO, Red Cross, Video footage and a history of previous use of such abhorrent weapons points the blame squarely at one or the other! Assad for what he has done to his own people and Putin for his attacks on civilians in other countries (which the International Agency for Chemical Weapons has pretty much confirmed).

Abe has a right to agree to them, as he probably fears that if left unchecked other rouge nations like North Korea will be encouraged to use their own stockpiles, or even worse its nuclear capability, to attack japan with out fear of reprisal. It astonishes me that people think dialogue is the way to win over these kind of lunatic leaders who have no qualms about killing their own! They are bullies, and the only language bullies understand is one of strength and repercussion. If an airstrike rids the world of one more dictator, or at the very least disrupts their ability to torture and murder their people, all the better!

The rebels had more to gain by launching chemical weapons. Assad's govt had nearly taken over. More likely the rebels did a last ditch effort to save their cause. That being said, Hitlr was stupid enough to invade both east and west, so Assad may have launched, but more likely the rebels, IMHO.

Well done PM Abe. Well Done!

Agreed. Japan supports USA and their War on Terror on Syrians.I only wish Japan was allowed to do more to help, like sending warplanes and troops on the ground. Change Constitution and Japan can do it, please dont listen to pacifists here.

4 ( +10 / -6 )

Not just Japan, the Saudis, the Turks, the Canadians, almost everyone supported it. Look when your friends are Syria, North Korea and China, it says something about your lack of class and character....

5 ( +11 / -6 )

If Abe sides with Trump & Co , how about he taking in Syrian refugees and giving them asylum shelter and protection from danger

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

These kinds of weapons should never be used. But I wonder who are these rebels? I don't know much about what's been happening in Syria. It just seems to me that most of the Middle East countries cannot govern themselves.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Putin has shown himself to be a spineless and weak leader. He allowed the US to slap his face and did nothing about it. Putin is all mouth and pants. Very strange Abe supports the US considering he live in a country occupied by the US and he is a US puppet. Abe does as his Washington masters tell him.

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

Shinzo is clueless.

The only person who should show support for the US, UK and French violation of Syrian sovereignty should be Kim Jung Un.

Heck , Kim must be happy that NK have them da-kine nuclear missiles and the attack on Damascus must have reinforced his will to maintain and improve their systems.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

The only person who should show support for the US, UK and French violation of Syrian sovereignty should be Kim Jung Un.

Instead it is virtually every country in the world and all rational people who recognise the need to stop the proliferation and use of these vile weapons.

It just seems to me that most of the Middle East countries cannot govern themselves.

Quite agree, hear hear, they should have remained under British and French control! (and as no one hear seems to recognise irony, yes I am being ironic).

This is the reason the DPRK will not give up their nuclear deterrent force. I would like to know how many western missiles were intercepted if any.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Abe jumped up from his favorite chair pretty quick to nip at Trump's heels on this one and look for a biscuit. Forget about the fact that heaps of even Trump supporters are bashing the president on this he'll probably turn around and deny he did it tomorrow.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

YuriOtani: "I would like to know how many western missiles were intercepted if any."

Something like 70 missiles out of 105, if you believe claims by Russian news stories, but zero if you believe the Pentagon. The latter claims that Russia doesn't seem to have fired any interceptors, and Syria's air defences all fired after the last missiles had hit, and were ineffective. Obviously hard to believe either completely.

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

I do not believe the Pentagon as the Syrians were backed up by the Russians with their sam hardware. They had to have shot down a few of the incoming missiles. The US military's claims were too good to be true. I can not explain it but you can always tell when they are lying. As for the Russians story, it seems too good to be true as well.

I think the Americans need to get their head on straight and try to be at least no hostile to China and Russia. It could means the difference between peace and nuclear war. No America, you can not win a conflict with either China or Russia!

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

@Ganbare Japan, we need to remain NEUTRAL in any conflict with China or Russia!

Cricky: Apr. 14 05:44 pm JST,

No clear evidence? You really need to read more.

According to an April 16 CNN article, British Prime Minister Theresa May said:

"From the intelligence I've seen, I'm in absolutely no doubt that the Syrian regime was responsible for the attack on Douma," she said (CNN: April 16).

This eerily reminds me of May's predecessor, former Prime Minister Tony Blair, who overwhelmingly supported George W. Bush's war against Saddam Hussein of Iraq after having seen intelligence provided by Bush.
