A NEW BUBBLE IN THE USA?? - In 10 charts, a comparison of present situation and other historical crisis in the US Economy - http://www.miguelangeldiez.com/2012/09/17/us_crisis

Well, obviously Obama should campaign for the job in Japan and China, then.

3 ( +10 / -7 )

Weird poll , first time I see China and Japan agreeing on something in the past few months!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

I wonder if there was an option for "None of the above"?

The Chinese should thank Romney, Bain Capital and U.S. manufacturing companies for their business ventures.

It's not exactly a GREAT BUSINESSMAN

Just a medicore businessman........ You have to look between the lines.

FACTS http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/more-tenuous-claims-about-romneys-bain-capital-record/2012/07/10/gJQAZmKDbW_blog.html

The Pinocchio Test In January, we awarded three Pinocchios to Romney for claiming he created 100,000 jobs at Bain Capital, partly because a great many of those jobs seemed to have come about after his time with the firm. This established a standard that we’ve generally followed for analyzing post-Romney Bain: It doesn’t make sense to credit him with good news or bad news that occurred after he left the company. Time and again, we’ve dinged campaigns when they’ve blamed Romney for Bain-related outsourcing and layoffs that didn’t happen under his watch. We’ve allowed some leeway when these groups attack the candidate for his tenure as chief executive, because that’s largely “fair game for scrutiny of his record as a business executive,” as we said in a previous column. Still, this Priorities USA ad goes too far. Only a relatively small portion of the supposed 14,000 layoffs could have occurred during Romney’s time with Bain, and it’s impossible to know how much blame to pin on the former executive for the remaining losses. Furthermore, the ad misleadingly suggests that Romney himself collected $92 million in profits from bankrupt companies, but all the Bain partners would have shared that money. Priorities USA earns three Pinocchios for its latest attack on GOP challenger’s Bain record. The claims are only slightly less tenuous than Romney’s boast of creating 100,000 jobs.

It is a sure thing that DPJ will lose landslide in the coming election in Japan and LDP will come back. It will be good if Romney will be elected and both of us will have business friendly leaders.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

The reality is most Japanese couldn't care less about US politics and have probably only heard of Romney's name in passing. Of course they are going to say Obama when asked who they want to win, because Obama is the only candidate they know.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Well there you have it. 86%. From the most politically astute people that the raging Democrats on JT love and praise so much!!

It figures. A country where the populace just swallows what the media tells them without deep analysis, and a Disney store for adult women is opening. And they just love Obama!

naruhodo.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

Yes, well, the Japanese don't have a good track record of picking effective leaders (to be fair, neither have the Americans). As for the Chinese? They don't have any record at all.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

IN the next week, the Chinese Communist party will get together and put in new leaders. Where was the poll that asked the Japanese, Americans, or even the Chinese who they preferred to win?

I guess they will continue to follow the words of Stalin, it doesn't matter who votes, what matters is the person who counts the votes.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Ummm... was that just the views of Chinese Comminist Party members? Oh good. I'll let my fellow American citizen voters know. Tah tah now.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

What I'm really interested in is what the citizens of the USA think about the DPJ, LDP and Sunrise Party etc :-)

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Why would anybody even waste their time conducting such a poll? Polling people on their political opinions in a country they don't even reside in especially when these people can't even vote in their own countries.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

It is a sure thing that DPJ will lose landslide in the coming election in Japan and LDP will come back. It will be good if Romney will be elected and both of us will have business friendly leaders.

The LDP are so "business friendly" they ran up a national debt that's around 200% of GDP by rewarding their election campaign donors with contracts for useless pork barrel projects, e.g. bridges projected to have two thousand cars crossing over them every day that only in fact have two hundred. Japan needs the LDP like it needs mosquitoes.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I'd like to see a poll of the people of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and anywhere else who have been on the receiving end of Obama's drone attacks.

But, the only voices that actually matter are those of the US electorate, CITIZENS.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Sick of this US stuff, I'm not american, don't plan to be, I really can't wait for China to become the world's biggest economy just to shut America up.

Awaits the vote down fest.

-5 ( +7 / -12 )

Maybe Obama should Retire to China, become a communist altogether & defend those inane ,empty islands everybody is so hot to own!-& GoGoGo is talkin' out of her tits, once more!!!!

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Good thing Japanese and Chinese citizens can't vote in U.S. elections.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

who cares who China backs? Americans don't even know the name of the Chinese leader. That shows you which country is relevant and which is not.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

We don't care who you back.....

0 ( +2 / -2 )

my guy voted on Friday and not for Democrats. Not a big deal mark ballet sheet and insert into machine.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

It's be most unfortunate to see him make a mess out of Japan, but he'd be a fine leader of China... We'll gladly send him... how do we set this up!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

It also is well worth mentioning that Obama has the unique credential of being the only standing US President to be endorsed by the US Communist Party!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

What I'm really interested in is what the citizens of the USA think about the DPJ, LDP and Sunrise Party etc :-)

A vast majority of Americans don't know anything about Japanese politics or any other countries politics for that matter.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Japanese and Chinese nations can not vote in US elections so who cares what they think?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Sorry Obama is the worst president the US has had ever. he is a stupid, lazy typical chicago buy votes with lots of free support for illegal alliens and the "minorities"...plus he is just plain dumb. I am sorry that asian people have been fooled by the constant liberal cant press in the US attacking Romeny who is an honest, hard working man of high character and a fine mind. He will make a good president and I am sure he will win. thank goodness. Obama will have been the low point of American politics and we can now go back up.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

China and Russia both want Obama to be president. That is all I need to know to tell me that ROMNEY needs to be the guy. Obama not tough at all on China and he already has told Russia he will hook them up once he gets reelected first and has "flexibility". time for CHANGE.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Most Japanese young adults I meet couldn't even tell you about the politicians standing in their own area, so not sure how much stock we should put in this survey.

That said, anyone who votes Romney and his magic stones and underpants wants checking over by a head-doctor.

China and Russia both want Obama to be president. That is all I need to know to tell me that ROMNEY

Obama earned his name -peace President while Bush earned a different name - war President.. Bush doctrine of international diplomacy with no negotiations that took us into two wars.

Republicans ideology "tricle down from top to bottom" means expanding and investing on military contractors instead of spending and improving domestic infrastructures. It is important to know the difference. If America wants to stay strong, we need to restore America first, not on other countries. .

1 ( +1 / -0 )

"Peace President"?!?

It is to laugh.

He is as much a peace President as my left foot. He is the master of the drone strike, the "hit list", and killing American citizens without trial.

He won the Nobel Prize for peace for doing exactly nothing. As the great Christopher Hitchens put it, it was like giving an Academy Award to an actor and hoping that someday they would make a great movie.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Of course Chinese people want Obama to win. They need Mitt to stay in the business of outsourcing US jobs to China. If Romney were president, he wouldn't have time to do things like forcing American workers to train their Chinese replacements before sending the jobs to China.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Eric L. Hanson:

" t also is well worth mentioning that Obama has the unique credential of being the only standing US President to be endorsed by the US Communist Party! "

....and by Hamas, by Mamoohd Ahmedinejad, and by Hugo Chavez. I don´t think there is a precedent for such popularity.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

whiskeysour:

" The Chinese should thank Romney, Bain Capital and U.S. manufacturing companies for their business ventures. "

...as opposed to Obamas various solar projects? LOL You really should read more than party electioneering material.

I was wondering when this useless poll would come out. AFP does this every 4 years. It's an ego booster, that's all it is. Now, if they overwhelmingly endorsed a third-party candidate, or if the people from the town of Obama supported Romney instead of Obama, that would be news.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Wait a sec, they polled 1000 people in China and that counts for the entire nation? what a joke.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

@Yasukuni 'A populace who swallows what the media tells them without deep analysis'. Americans are never guilty of that, of course....

0 ( +0 / -0 )

somehow i get the impression about everyone outside of the U.S. itself would prefer Obama for a second term over Romney to replace him. Could that possibly have something to do with Romneys nationalist stance ?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

"And in a separate poll, Americans overwhelmingly said they think the Dalai Lama should be the next president of China, and that Ichiro Suzuki would be their preferred choice for Japanese Prime Minister."

Note to the mod who deleted this the first time around as "off-topic." This is called a metaphor. I could just say "Japanese and Chinese know nothing of US politics, so their opinion is as meaningless as Americans voicing their preference of Chinese leaders," but that would be boring. I understand English is difficult, but hang in there.

Obama is bad for business.... We need Romney to relax banking regulation. But ultimately no matter who wins the US presidency is only a muppet show.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

it's sad when a population choose a president because he or she is a minority, not because what said person can do for the country, all this is just we can have a black president in the white house, is not about what said president can do, but the worse thing is that this people dont know who mr. Obama is working for.

There was a special interviews between Zakaria with world leaders. They all want Obama to win as they recognized Obama is a negotiator. Once the transcripts become available, I will post them for you. I just warn you a military draft system may come back if Romney becomes President. You know how easy it is to reverse it, right? You cannot dodge it if you are under age 35. Again, I will post the transcripts later.

@The True

the worse thing is that this people dont know who mr. Obama is working for.

So who is he working for? Enlighten us ignorant mortals, please!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Well gee I wonder why we had white male presidents for so long...

Obama is bad for business.... We need Romney to relax banking regulation.

Oh sure, so the banking sector can go back to carrying on the way it was prior to 2008, and finish the job of totally wrecking the global economy. Really smart plan.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

True that Chinese and Japanese nationals don't count in US presidential election. We like neither white or black, we care about Asia hence his action plans in Asia once whoever in office.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Romney and Republicans only have a shot in the US, elsewhere in the world, their brand of utterly corrupt "leadership" which consists only of ignoring evidence, supporting all policies that will inflate the bank accounts of their rich donors and insanely dangerous warmongering would be unsaleable.

Obama isn't great, but he is still heads and shoulders about anyone the Republicans can find in their ranks, who come in two formats: the madmen who somehow genuinely believe their spiel, and the immoral corrupt types with no principle who just pretend to believe it to get the votes from the indoctrinated radical right-wingers who form the base of the party.

Oh yeah, 'cause relaxing banking regulations worked SO well prior to Great Depression and the present financial crisis, right?

Relaxing banking regulations only does one thing: it allows banks to make more money by screwing the rest of us with obscure "innovative" (ie, fraudulent) financial products, which always leads to major financial crises. Canada is doing well right now compared to other countries because it kept strict regulations on its banks. Europe had very relaxed banking regulations thanks to neoliberal technocrats who drafted European treaties and look at how it's doing.

@VRWC, as I promised above, I am posting the website how the world is watching our election as well.

The Great Depression wasn't really caused by banks. It was caused by tariffs.
