I do hope voters won't be put off by the fact that Ozawa is part of this new party. As things stand, I truly see this party as the alternative to LDP and DPJ that was so sorely lacking until now. Finally some movement could be coming into Japanese politics. Go for it!!!

Way to go 'Japan must graduate from nuclear power'! Just another hoax to get us paying for profitable green energy. Meanwhile, in Germany today, the tax payers have to pay over 2 billion Euros until 2015 for that green stuff nobody wants any longer. Japan, wake up, learn fro Germany, switch on the nuclear power stations again until some realistic new energy has been found!

Oh the torture. Can people here support a party backed by Ozawa?

Let's hope that this new party can have an impact on the 'nuclear village' and its control over the central government!

Ozawa was approaching Kada days in advance and is undoubtedly the mastermind behind all this. But then again where is the problem in that? Is he really the man to be feared and criticized with all the beating from the prosecutors and media he gets nowadays or is he just the nail that continues to stick out in the system thus considered a nuisance by his rivals? There seems to be a contradiction where people criticize him for pulling the strings behind the scenes yet fearful of him to come in the open to exercise his leadership. All in all believe Ozawa is making the right move here as Kada seems to have the charisma to lead this particular group and collect the votes..

Japan needs to import more foreign fossil fuels. This is good news for rest of the world as Japan now has a trade deficit and others can profit from their lack of energy resources. Japan also benefits by increasing the amount of carbon emissions they produce. More carbon taxes for Japanese to appreciate.

Instead, the money should be spent on green energy research and development.

Hey, just a new political party that isn't completely beholden to the powers-that-be would be a good start. Rather unnerving that Ozawa is involved. Probably means it will be business as usual not long after the election. Sigh.

We shawl see what happens if they get voted in it means the sun is just about to set. English teachers will be upset when they get paid in devalued yen. Anyone who gets their pension in foreign money will live like royalty.

I have a feeling that nukes will become the focal point for this election that may elipse economy since economy issue is too difficult for some of the voters to understand. If so then Japan Future party will become the eye of the storm.

I just want to say that Wind Energy is a very reliable source of energy vice Nuclear Energy. The innovation & production of Wind Energy plants can certainly blow jobs toward Japan's sagging economy. Hopefully Japan can produce and find the next best innovative and or solution to the worlds dependence on less lethal forms of energy like Nuclear Energy.

Hikozaemon-san,

Can people here support a party backed by Ozawa?

Oh yes!

They don't mean it. They all know it will damage Japanese economy. They are just saying so to appeal to sentimental citizens.
