That's great and all but I see 2 points here that I DONT like
This might be a move to make Japan ease it's sanctions. Let his aides explain the same excuse or a rehashed excuse to satisfy Japan.
This will be positive publicity for Abe in the coming election. Hey I pushed him about the abductees and he answered. UghMadden
Well I guess Trump managed to keep his promise to Abe and pressure Kim on the issue, that's something.

Am I the only one thinking this is just trolling ?
Japan won't stop talking about the abduction issue, so the north koreans will "re-explain" what they already said. Like Japan is a kid with learning difficulties.
I don't see how anything may change after that.

I think KJU is going the right path to open this issue to Japan. I just want to know what is his abducted probe, there are thousands of South Koreans and some POW US soldiers bigger in number than the Japanese abductees Japan requested to NK.

They may be trying to build other alliances outside the US, so that when they eventually tell Trump that they aren't going to give up their nukes, they have some support in their corner.

There is a strong possibility that records have been lost and no one knows what became of these victims.

In the ultimate police state? Extremely unlikely.

This statement is better than nothing.
Let’s see what happens this year.

thanks again, Trump.
macv
issue is closed move on with life OR deal with all abductions without prejudice
cannot have it both ways that is hypocrisy

A least it's a hopeful start

Abe is such a fool that he is easily played by both sides.
Ganbare Japan!
Thank-you, Pres. Trump, for having the courage and Japans interests at heart, in bringing up the issue. Previous “leaders” like Obama didnt care at all. I will say it yet again, USA under Trump is the best friend and ally Japan could possibly have.

Re-explaining means saying the same thing again and again. I hope that helps the Abe administration.

I have not seen any data indicating abductions have occurred under Kim Jong Un's leadership.

Nothing newer than 2009?

he wasn't even born when abductions happened so pretty nice of him considering nothing happened on his watch - and Japan still abducts thousands of kids annually how insane is this?
