Kishida inflation, yen depreciation — no thank you.

The opposition is correct, Kuroda is totally out of touch with what the average Taro is now and going to experience thanks to their ruthless monetary easing. Throw in the lack of electricity and Japan is in for a really ugly summer, and beyond!

The CDPJ-submitted motion also criticizes the Cabinet for not reviewing monetary easing by the Bank of Japan.
The CDPJ should call out this socialism for the rich as the LDP and BOJ economic strategy and win elections.

I am glad we do not have a parliament

The motion is against Kishida, and it's going nowhere, as it's just a political ploy by the weak opposition to get some airtime before the elections.
The way the title is written here is the same as using a shotgun blast, in the hope that one of the pellets hits a target.

What do you have? A dictator? I highly doubt that folks here can read your mind.

Thry should include the ridiculous and insulting new tourism rules in it as an example as well.
It’s embarrassing that the government put out the new rules.
How on earth would we actually chaperone foreigners around designated pre-determined spots when theres basically no workforce?
And who is actually going to come and pay for that? I would actually pay to not be part of it.
The only similar program is in NK.

Change the ruling block! Only the LDP peeps are getting richer and their lives have become more comfortable since the Pandemic.

The opposition really have to turn up the volume and aggressively attack the government. Look at the uk, on a daily basis Boris is being attacked in the media, here the opposition only turn up once a month. Get new pr people, offer tax cuts, offer an attractive alternative, not just more of the same money printing and tax increases..
Paul
Just a performance, noting LDP to worry about!

The US dollar set to hit ¥135 today and there is no signs it will go down any time soon, thanks to Kishiflation. If Japanese politics weren't as hopeless as US politics, though less radical, it would be a good issue to bring up. But, since the opposition are all LDP dropouts who want the same things, have no ideas, and people here just shrug and say "shouganai", nothing is ever going to change.

CDPJ deserves a chance to rule .

i agree with the tax cut idea, but Japan needs more than that.
see the initial budget news recently - annual spending is 105 trillion, versus record tax revenues… of 65 trillion, in ball park numbers.
Japan needs to slash spending in half, which won’t leave much scope for tax cuts, unless coupled with other growth inducing regulatory reform to unshackle the innovative spirits and boost growth. In aging Japan, though, there is likely a constraint there…
and if tax rates were cut and some people did start to get richer, there would be more complaints about “inequality”.
In short, Japan is pretty screwed, but better to have a big reset and get back on the right track again, sooner rather than meanderingly heading to deeper demise.
the other thing is, 2% inflation was Kuroda and Abe’s idea! Why now are people getting upset? But yes, kishida could demonstrate a pair and change policy

I don’t think that is fair.
As one with above average wealth, I never asked for this largesse, and I think many like me did not either. Don’t blame us for the bad voting decisions of the majority.
I think these central planners thought they were doing the right thing - but central planners by definition don’t have the combined knowledge to get the decisions right. Central planning is the evil here, not the rich who merely play the cards that they are dealt.

Why the CDPJ waste their time with these no confidence motions is beyond me. If they're going to submit motions that are going to get voted down by the LDP majority they might at least make them about something substantial, like legislation they would introduce to solve Japan's problems. The LDP richly deserve criticism but that can't be all the opposition does.

Well, not exactly. There seems to be a core of them who started out in the Japan Socialist Party and then there are the Communists of course, but I suspect they've all resigned themselves to being perpetually in opposition while still getting pretty well paid, and thus don't see any need to come up with new ideas that will never implemented. Not a great state of affairs really.

Preaching to the choir mate.

Well actually that's due to the funding of the LDP by the CIA.
Both the New York Times and the LA Times wrote about that. The New York times did a real good article in detail. It explains the state of affairs of Japanese politics beautifully.

I was aware of that but there comes a point where we can't keep using it as an excuse for the opposition parties being a bit rubbish.
