Also graduating were 22 foreign students from Cambodia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Thailand, East Timor, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar.

Japans Defense Academy should not be used to train graduates for Myanmar's despicable murderous military junta.

It only threatens world order, if the world allows it to continue and spread.

What are you Mr Kishida and the rest of the world going to do to ensure it does not spread?

5 ( +12 / -7 )

Kishida didn’t say it, as in he is a World leader making a statement.

He’s parroting what others have already said and now its in Japan’s news.

Kishida says Russian invasion of Ukraine threatens foundation of international order

Kishida and Biden and other Western leaders on the international order and "rules-based order".

What is it that they speak of? Continuing imports of Russian oil, and Saudi oil as they violate a truce in Yemen with air strikes?

The "rules" and order are just vague ideas about self-interest and maintaining the status-quo.

...but we already knew this over a month or so ago.

Only 64 female graduates ?

That's pitiful !

Kishida talks of world war 2 and the international order.

We remember what Japan did during ww2 to the international order.

Japan for the most part has enjoyed peaceful pacifism since the war.

I wish Japan would stop involving itself in other countries conflicts and questing to be a leader of Asia.

Much has recently been made by some that other conflicts around the globe, supplemented with accusations of violations of international laws, treaties and custom - both big and small, but some unendurable because they are somehow encouraged by a superpower - will somehow justify putting the brakes on any learned discussion over limiting the scope and breath of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. A war of aggression, notably unjustified by any reasonable measure of honor, by a rogue nuclear power that is little short of empire building. Instead, we must not try to convince ourselves that action taken will result in some sort of unendurable hypocracy. Courage and prudence, forward.

of which 64 were female.

I was going to say, there's an awful lot of men in that picture.

But still strikes me that there are so many youngsters that want to graduate in a place like a " National Defense Academy". Maybe most of them following their father career?

So you're educating the Myanmar officers so they can return to help crush the democratic movement at home? The hypocrisy is sickening.

Pfft, bit rich for Japan to be lecturing other countries on brutal takeovers of other nations.

"threatens to shake the very foundation of international order""

Yes indeed, glad to see Japan becoming an active partner of the world events and not standing on the sideline .

Putin must be stopped at any cost.

The "International order" that the US violated several times in the last 2 decades? (Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya)

Lets also not forget what the US lets Israel and Saudi Arabia get away with.

Not trying to justify Russia's aggression, but the only "international order" that existed is what the US and Western media says it is.

Japan has not engaged in takeovers of other nations for about 80 years.

And there we have it, the truth laid bare. Kishida just the current LDP mouthpiece for US interests.

I can see more and more people who prefer autocrat leadership government. Militarism and censorship to manipulate citizen's life. Is that what those dudes want?

If you strain hard enough you might actually see that there is a woman in there somewhere.

Where’s Wally?

Third row, 13th from the right.

I like how he stands up and states this as though it's not what the world has been saying for a month. He not have the fax machine plugged in?

Had Biden not shut down US petroleum production many of these issues would not exist. But his belief that ‘renewable energy’ is the key to the conundrum of ‘climate change’ and the insistence of following the GND proposed by the unscientific congressional caucus preposing it the problem has reached new heights!

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

Interesting that he's saying this infront of green graduates when he could have made the same statement (in front of Biden) at the G7 meet earlier.

He knows, Biden, Xi, Putin together with the EU are entwined in this tectonic shift to less democratic values and more authoritarianism. It started under Obama, and it will continue unless citizens of the free world make clear in their votes.

Under Obama, despite global outcry (Wall Street sitins etc.), the same people that caused the GFC were put in charge of getting America out of the mess. Nothing changed, global corporate elites led the way, government implemented the rules.

There is now 4 functioning democracies left: Japan, UK, Australia, & Canada, how long can this last. One less than the number of Communist countries (China, Cuba, Vietnam, Laos and NK). The rest are fake democracies, or democracies too fatigued to fight back, especially the EU countries where a new kind of indirect kleptocracy is creeping into aspects of every citizen's lives. EU citizens are giving up their own rights and wealth so EU corporates can profit from the Chinese market is only just the start.

To think Obama said nothing when Germany was trying to eradicate Bosnia, or Nord 2 was proposed says it all about this global elites cabal. Ukraine is just a sideshow, and there's been a lot of sideshow alley acts coming out of Sullivan, Blinken etc. All talk, no walk.

Kishida says Russian invasion of Ukraine threatens foundation of international order:

Sure?

One would doubt if there is any international order nowadays, perhaps only the superpower order.

Some leaders are trying extremely hard to impose the latter's imperialistic demand..

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Kishida. Fine for him to make pronouncements. The International Order. Does that refer to G-7 or G-20?

Bush the elder's, New World Order? Obama's, Pivot to Asia? The Monroe Doctrine? The Carter Doctrine? His remarks are vapid - the status quo in Asia is China and India - with Japan as an outpost of the American Empire.

Russia, has stated over the decades, that the expansion of NATO is an impingement on its territorial integrity. For an analogy, examine the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

The shenanigans by various actors (besides Zelenskyy the comedian) spans several decades, as the containment of Russia and the purposeful intent of the USA, is to prevent Russia and the EU from being inclusive. For just a glimmer of insight, consider, what exactly was Hunter Biden doing in tthe Ukraine? What is the purpose of the various NGOs beyond cover for various spy agencies. Then listen to Nuland and Pyatt's conversation regarding picking the next 'leader' of Ukraine. Examine critically, Zelenskyy and how he achieved the presidency and who placed him in office.

It didn't happen in a vacuum. And the machinations of the USA, is intending a world order, the dominance of which is the USA and the retention and expansion of the American Empire. Of which Japan is a client state and Kishida its vassal.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine threatens to shake the very foundation of international order and could potentially lead the world to "the greatest crisis" since World War II, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Sunday.

Got his finger on the pulse this guy.

students from Cambodia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Thailand, East Timor, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar.

I bet they aced the defending democracy, ethnic minorities and human rights classes.

Japan should really worry about it's own economic crisis at this point, including but not limited to soaring energy prices

Japan offer crucial lessons for the world, and the world has learned from Japan:

*The Plaza Accord / the Paris Accord, Yen Appreciation

*Wage Decline, Balance Sheet Recession, Sliding Real Estate Index

*Zombie Company Cook Books and Recipes to avoid Collapsing

*Asset Price Bubble and Monetary Policy

*Unsustainable cheap loans

*Low interest development loans with conditions to buy raw materials from Japan (China practicing this in Africa with Chinese companies awarded contracts.)

*Deflation and High Savings Rate

A lot of these are examples of what not to do but they are crucial lessons.

The Foundation of International Order is usually not a topic people learn from Japan.

Prime-minister Kishida, who provoke this war???.
