"Who disagrees with us is a foreign threat to our security!"

Way to show the nominally liberal and nominally democratic party their true political stance. Again, very fitting for the occasion!

He made his Twitter page private Wednesday evening.

Being able to maintain a Twitter page, or at least stand by and defend the comments made there, exceeds the minimum level of competency for many LDP politicians.

Aso Taro's Twitter page seems to have not been updated in a decade.

how to protect Japan from outsiders and insiders who are seeking to destroy it or discredit it

Equating dissent with "seeking to destroy" is a basic feature of an ideology I don't want to mention on this forum, but which was temporally successful in Italy, Germany and Japan.

Similar accusations have been made by certain posters here as well.

Is he drumming up fear so that the LDP can feed the war bird?

More to the point the twit should have tweeted that 80%(?) of the party donations come from Korea.

80% of LDP donations come from big businesses like power companies.

The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association was the largest single donor to the LDP organization in 2016, giving 80.4 million yen.

A total of 23 major industry groups and large companies each contributed more than ¥20 million to the LDP in 2018.

Takatora Kobayashi, an LDP member of the Mie prefectural assembly in western Japan,

Kobayashi has been close to the Unification Church and affiliations which he admitted supported his election campaigning.

In the past he came into criticism when he identified and published without consent a local address of a gay couple. The guy is scum.

Wallace, I didn’t know that. Would you mind posting the source for those numbers?

Abe was just another in a long line of inept LDP "leaders." I doubt very much that the negativity came from China. Let's face it, he wasn't exactly popular, was he?

And you wonder why Japan has been stagnated for 30 years?? Being ran/managed by the same group of people/him.

If, this does not change, different people take over/manage, we come back in 30 years time, JP will still be the same, and others will be in the distance, in front.

Kobayashi is an idiot who talks nonsense!

Another racist LDP politician.

Wasn't he the same reprobate that showed the home address of a gay couple?

Not a good man.

Why do any of these LDP fools say ANYTHING on social media?

They just end up looking even more incompetent.

笑 It's sad when a politician is both dumb and racist.

I wanted people to feel a sense of urgency regarding our security.

They do. THAT'S WHY they were out protesting in the first place

It was not meant to be discriminatory.

Yes it was.
