While technically speaking Japan may not have been in a recession, it sure feels like it's been a depression ever since the bubble burst.

Is it not interesting that the only person in the country, that does not know that there is a depression, has become minster in charge of the economy?

Wow, this guy is really smart! Any fool knows that japan since 3/11 is in deep recession. There is no need to look at the numbers, just look around and see how many companies closed their doors. Hatoyama was a complete moron, but he was very lucky because replaced taro aso, which has done many positive things with EcoPoint.

i just hope that every single of japanese knows its declining geopolitical position and economic power. and japan shouldn't mess with the boss, aka China, no more.

The Recession Club includes almost every developed nation. This isn't news.

'May' be in a recession? Is he serious? 'May'? - Salaries have been dropping over the last two decades, many large Japanese companies have either folded, about to fold or have laid off 50-75% of their workforce, people's disposable income is virtually zero, banks are screaming to give away money to gain interest payments, the international debt just keeps growing and the government is broke. Need I go on??? There is no 'may' about it Maehara! Japan's economy 'is' in recession and getting worse by the year! Combine these with a country that has no leadership and changes PMs with the seasons and it spells, economic disaster! Does Maehara actually live in Japan?

What do you mean, "may"? Maybe in England it isn't yet until this quarters results but this quarter will contract too because of Senkaku.
