Must love Japan, gotto love it if one is a white collar criminal. You don't go to jail, you don't pay back money stolen, bribes are ok as long as you don't get caught but if you do just a simple I'm sorry" and well the rest is as they say history' congratulations in order to a crook.

They’ll always vote for the most recognizable candidate here - whether they’re famous or infamous.

Unbelievable. But also:
And stepping down is taking responsibility how? Third world country this is. Arrest these freaking crooks already. Someone who shall not be named here got treated MUCH worse for MUCH less. You all know who i'm talking about.

I don't know what's worse - these politicians, or the people that vote for them.

It's good to see the next generation upholding Japanese traditions.

"Incorrigible"! (a word for which there is no Japanese equivalent) That being said, there are plenty of corrupt politicians in cahoots with incorrigible voters even in English-speaking lands. Must be the human condition. Natural selection may be the only solution, but it works so slowly.

English lesson for the people of Takahama, please repeat. You reap what you sow.

So this guy is just as Teflon as good old Shinzo! It doesn't seem to matter in Japanese politics if there is a scandal or not, people will keep voting for the incumbent no matter what.
