It is "important" for the ministry to explain to the public "in an easy-to-understand and appropriate manner" how it interprets political fairness in broadcasting, Kishida said.

NIce deflection there. It's more important for the LDP to explain how it interprets political fairness, I would have thought. In reality, the LDP seems to get off rather lightly. They would be pilloried and made fun of in many other countries.

the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications acknowledged that the documents, comprising 78 pages in total, were drafted within the ministry

It's been awhile since last minister step down

Economic security minister Sanae Takaichi

Given that she wants no questioning of the LDP's policy, whose economic security is she ensuring?

Borrowing from recent American lessons in placing individuals in charge of ministries that are deeply compromised with conflicts of interest and actively hostile to the supposed public aims of the ministries.

It is "important" for the ministry to explain to the public "in an easy-to-understand and appropriate manner" how it interprets political fairness in broadcasting, Kishida said.

Sounds like it is more for Takaichi's benefit than the public's. Since when do violators of laws have to wait for "easy-to-understand and appropriate manner" before enforcement and punishment?

""During her term as minister of internal affairs and communications, Takaichi said it was possible broadcasters would be taken off the air if it was deemed they had repeatedly aired programs that lacked political fairness.""

So much for Freedom Of The Press and freedom of Speech.

as some say "Democracy DIES In Darkness" Mam.

I knew she would not resign. This is pure BS. Say you will do something, and then claim much like her friends in the RNC that the truth is "fake". The sooner she is gone the better, but I doubt Kishida will have the will to fire her.

The legacy of those who "in the name of democracy" aided in the formation of the LDP in the post-war era.

she is "confident" that parts of the documents featuring her are incorrect, adding remarks mentioned in the papers were "fabricated."

So that's her excuse. She's full of a 4 letter word.

agree

Still cleaning up after Abe, his legacy continues.

5 ( +11 / -6 )

Takaichi isn't going to let a few papers "compiled" (by whom?) in the ministry stand between her and her political ambitions (the first woman PM?). She's following in Abe's right-wing footsteps with "Iron Lady" determination and is "not for turning". Politicians of her ilk can smugly say whatever they want and get away with the most shameless BS excuses because they know that Taro Q. Public is powerless to gainsay.

7 ( +13 / -6 )

Just par for the course.

We all know pressure was exerted on the media - both public and private - to essentially tow the line if not at least "tone it down".

And Abe's appointment of Momii his close friend and lap-dog as Chairman of NHK was a brain spinner.

He openly declared his support of Abe's thinking and his policies.

And Takaichi was as equally vocal.

Just resign Sanae as you said you would.

Or better still just have the guts Kishida to fire her.

9 ( +14 / -5 )

Ups, Sakaichi ran out of excuses.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

"Asked by Konishi about whether she would quit as a Cabinet member and as a lawmaker if the documents are proven to be real, Takaichi, speaking at a Diet session on Friday, answered, 'Yes, I will.'"

No, she won't.

The LDP and the CCP have more in common than general public would care to admit. I mean Shinzo Abe's grandfather was a war criminal, and Shinzo was hailed by his LDP and their cronies as a messiah! Still no one can tell me why Shinzo Abe deserved so many funeral processions on the tax payers dime.

-7 ( +15 / -22 )

To be a high-ranking woman in the male chauvinistic LDP, you would have to say and do some wild stuff. There is no telling what she said and did to get those old men's respect!

Abe’s gone, so blame everything on him. Even his wife is off the hook.

THIS!!

It is blatantly obvious that, most if not all media and news gathering organizations around the world are now compromised and have political biases or leanings. " He who pays the piper calls the tune ". This became very obvious during the pandemic and now with the russia/ukraine war.

These scumbag politicians always find a way out!

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Who is not confronted to censorship on Japanese media ?

Abe's croonies are still legions and political stance is not returning to more freedom of speech.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

What a disgusting individual.

Doesn’t care a fig about the population.

She was handpicked/groomed by Abe to continue fascist legacy.

abhorrent human being !!

The one who should resign is Konishi Hiroyuki, who set this farce in motion by gleefully confessing in Parliament today that all MIC officials were his friends, juniors and associates. His confession was recognised by many in the public as a scandal of collusion between opposition parties and bureaucrats and leakage of secrets. This means that it is a terrorist attack in which the bureaucrats and anti-Japanese media collude with the pro-CCP opposition to unseat the Japanese politicians they have targeted.

In fact, politicians who have died suspicious deaths or been murdered as a result of nonsense made up by the DPJ/Rikken CDP, include Koki Ishii, Taishi Nakagawa, Toshikatsu Matsuoka and Shinzo Abe. They were the politicians who worked for us.

Furthermore, there is Toshio Akagi of the Kinki Finance Bureau, who allegedly committed suicide under pressure from Konishi.

His pre-suicide memo stated that his suicide was due to mental strain from two weeks of forced hard work. It also turned out that it was forced by Konishi and Sugio of the Rikken CDP, who two weeks before his death suddenly broke into the Kinki Finance Bureau with 50 of their subordinates without authorisation and intimidated his superiors for several hours.

https://twitter.com/ikedanob/status/1471060016803500034?s=20

”The day after Sugio and Konishi had lashed out at the Ministry of Finance, Mr Akagi committed suicide. Why is Mrs Akagi not holding the opposition to account? Or do the newspapers not write about it?”

Interestingly, Sugio's previous workplace was TBS, and he was also the one who gave Lawyer Sakamoto's address and his return time to Aum Shinrikyo. Lawyer Sakamoto, his wife and his baby were murdered by Aum Shinrikyo members who were facilitated by Sugio.

Furthermore, Sugio even falsely accused one of the victims, a neighbour at the crime scene of the Aum human experiment terrorist attack using sarin in Matsumoto City, and declared him the culprit.

https://twitter.com/tabibitosararim/status/1059065540608573443?s=20

”Lawyer Sakamoto and his family were slaughtered by the Aum because of Sugio's tip-off. Did Sugio take adequate responsibility?”

Many citizens are already fed up with the media's biased reporting and fake news. In particular, Sunday Morning, the programme in question in this case, is a hate programme whose main production staff and performers are made up of Koreans and is notorious for constantly calling out racism against the Japanese. The reason no one says 'Save Sunday Morning' is because they haven't forgotten that TBS, which airs it, was complicit in the mass murderous terrorism of the Aum Shinrikyo in the past.

Yes, you probably don't know this, but the Japanese media is a perpetrator of indiscriminate murderous terrorism against the Japanese people and the murder of a family of lawyers. Why is it illegal to discuss that?

Okay, there is some interesting info about Konishi, the Ricken CDP who set this farce in motion.

Firstly, he said this in Parliament yesterday.

'The bureaucrats in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications who supposedly produced the respective documents. Mr Nishigata is my junior. Mr Nagashio, Director of the Broadcasting Policy Division, is my senior. Director Ando is someone I once served directly.'

And both Nagashio and Ando, whom Konishi proudly introduced, are also suspected of having covered up Fuji TV's breach of foreign investment regulations. Konishi was their subordinate at the time and the actual perpetrator of the cover-up.

In other words, Konishi and his merry band may have manipulated the media even before Konishi became a politician, reporting large amounts of biased information on behalf of certain political parties, the Chinese Communist Party and North Korea, and involved in leaking or taking classified information overseas.

This is the scene Tamaki of the DPP reveals that the opposition party's questions are tailored to the nightly news programmes.

Are the documents genuine or not?

People who wholeheartedly believe in accelerationism are the most irresponsible revolutionaries and deconstructionists. They are eager to change the status quo, but they have not thought about what kind of path to choose after changing the status quo.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

The fact that the right-wing government, non-government, and corporate forces in the United States are so keen to promote neo-accelerationism is one of the results of the inability and lack of effectiveness of the left.
