Perhaps, but they probably have editors demanding they ask daft questions in order to get the 'scoops' and soundbites publishers think the public wants.

And, as you know, the local public here can't get enough talento gossip, y'know! ;)

Not much politics news today, if this is the top story? She can't complain about her getting attention because of being best beautifulist politician, or whatever she's called. That's probably why she was chosen for the position, after all.

wow, again in the news. I like this girl, she should candidate for PM. probably you remember, they wanted to kick her out of the council for making a grabia book with herself in skimpy bikinis. and with a genius explanation: "I wanted to increase the popularity of my town"

Why would a "politician" promote a movie???

because her dream is to become tarento or aidoru. she's a politician because her dad was, so her dad's support group put her in the council. and therefore the gravure idol dreams

Yeah Mittsu, I saw the website. There was a list of around 60 lady politicians from developed countries. As I understand it, the web community in Japan got organized and staged a voting campaign to get their gal to be number one (maybe via 2-channel). No other group of citizens got organized like the Japanese. So, internationally, she's virtually unknown, but in Japan extremely popular (at least as some eye candy).
