A simple, "no" will suffice. ODA grants should go to the democratically elected government not the junta which will only pocket the money.

They support them, they aren't going anywhere.

Nice for Kyodo and others in the Japanese media to sympathetically air the views and concerns of the junta without offering any comments or views from the pro-democracy side.

Stay neutral. It's best not to take sides. Is not worth it. The whole ASEAN alliance didn't bother, so why should we be different? We spend decades building a relationship with that country. There is no way we need to stop. The ODA projects is used for the renovation and maintenance of the railroad, the water and electricity supply to major cities, the agriculture sector and rural development. Without these, the people would suffer anyway.
Plus we can still help out with aid and allowing their citizens to come over to seek work. Sanctions never work and instead only make enemies and cause massive suffering. Not a single sanction of the west has work so far but instead created millions of migrants. I think why most countries are so mess up is because of all the weapon export trades being done anyway. Nobody is questioning why so much weapons are flooding throughout Asia, Africa, Middle East and even Latin America. All it take is for 1 ambitious person to make a move and the whole place is set on fire. What we need is to stop the weapon export industry. Even crime organizations these days are better equip than the police in some part of the world.

"Stay" neutral? Japan has already chose sides when they decided to suspend development aid.... that's precisely why the Minister is here begging them to come back. And although I'm sure Japan only did it to follow the US, I applaud their decision.
