Hypocrisy perhaps, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Abe is in fact a militaristic maniac.

Mr. Kettle, Mr Pot Call your office

I suppose we can all agree that North Koreans are experts on the subject...

Heh, I was thinking, that coming from NK, theres really no greater compliment.

What NK says over the years have a logic of its own. And in that sense it is logical, and consistent. Their points have always been that Japan is a historical criminal against the Korean people, that Japan by its national character never apologies, that Japan submits only to stronger powers like the US, and that therefore the only language Japan understands is force.

SK people don't say such things in the open, but they think the same.

North Korea has not attacked someone is over 60 years. I trust the South Korean gov less than I trust the North. Never forget the 1979 pro democracy massacre in South Korea. Even NK rebuked the event.

Happy birthday Kim!

N Korea must be expecting food donation from Japan will stop. It must be imagining China will send food, instead.

@StrangerlandJan

The one who executed his own uncle by feeding him to hungry, savage dogs

...and I always thought it was the Koreans (and Chinese) who ate dogs !

I am neither NK (nor Chinese) but I feel very inclined to agree with what they've been accused of saying ! Abe's recent behaviour has been rather "provocative" - to say the least...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

@strangerland Don't believe everything you read:

A good idea; I got info on N Korean official newspaper. So, maybe I will stop reading N Korean Official;s explanation that it will give same execution as his uncle received. With detailed execution method his uncle received.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

@ Strangerland, the story I read was a little different in which several people ,together with his uncle were fed to hungry dogs ,120 (?) of them. true or not I don't know. The fact that China let this Hong Kong based newspaper had this story , was somewhat in my mind, understandable and probably true. By doing so China can easily deny any responsibility but at the same time show its dissatisfaction with NK. Anyway its all NK fault for not having free press. And you are right that we should be cautious ,always.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

The one who executed his own uncle by feeding him to hungry, savage dogs ...now has the nerve to call anyone "maniac"?

Don't believe everything you read:

Japan can forget its military invasions if they admit truly their part of history! If Abe comes to Singapore and pray respect to our war dead, I will forget my grandfather's death in brutal hands and never post anything again! Is this so hard to do? I suppose denying history is easier!!!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Wait a second, is this North Korea saying this??? Or is this CHina saying this??? Seems the same words come from both mouths these days but one difference, with North Korea threatening, China is acting with aggression. Another fact to take into account is.... the US for the last maybe 8 years, has been pushing Japan to develop its military and also pushing Japan on the changing of article 9 in their constitution as China has been drastically developing their military and drastically using their new found power to intimidate and threaten everyone in the South China sea and the East China sea, making outlandish claims not only of Islands and up to the shores of countries thousands of miles off China's shore but of entire seas!! North Korea and their brother China may be touting Japan's past and over looking Japan in present day as a respected member of the international community but, we see others of the normal civilized nations looking at Japan as a deterrent of these two countries, even Philippines are seeing Japan as someone to promote security ties with and they too suffered from Japan's past military power, so what does that ell you about North Korea and China's harsh words against japan??? Nothing but the words from two countries that keep their people living with a mindset and its societies focused on past history as their leaders keep their people's minds set in the times of the past only for their leaders own gain and power over their societies. It is not like it is some sort of a secrete that is behind all of this. It is not about if Japan has changed or not, but evidence shows the last 68 years, proves Japan has, but the question is, has China changed any at all through the last 1000 years?? It is pretty much a fact looking at China today the intentions and dream of dominance over others has not changed at all!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

@aussie musashi- at the moment you are right. But for nationalist Japanese, there is this shame that must be avenged! In world politics, there is no permanent friend or enemy. A militaristic Japan is more frightening to the US than a militaristic China. Every Chinese general background and assets are in American knowledge. They know their weaknesses!

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

The one who executed his own uncle by feeding him to hungry, savage dogs ...now has the nerve to call anyone "maniac"?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@Asian2013. I agreed with most of you post except: "China and Japan can one day both strike at the US." I dont see Japan ever wanting to, or being in a position to do so again, and as for China, possible, but cant see it happening either

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

@Joebigs- keeps asking what Japan did in the last 68 years? Japan lost heavily in 1945 and many innocent Japanese died cruelly because of imperialist Japan's grave error! Japan surrendered and has been under the control of the US and therefore has not waged another war. But has Japan really changed? Sun tze art of war teaches you to buy time and await for the right moment and right conditions. Japan awaits patiently. There is no guarantee that China and Japan can one day both strike at the US and the US understands this!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

So who cares what lunatic North Korea thinks of anything!?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Much as I despise what North Korea stands for, in this instance they aren`t far off the mark.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Friends, don't forget which country is supporting NK financially and militarily. Then decide who is the real evil, the mouth piece who use 25 million people as slaves for the benefit of one million or the the ones who have the option to end it all but choose not to. This real evil is the same country that wants to control Asia. China is where the world needs to focus on not on their mouth piece.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

If you take a close look at the world you`ll notice that a large number of countries seem to be military maniacs.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Why, it's a high honor for Mr. Abe especially coming from North Korea. You all knew he was going to build up the JSDF and change the laws regarding use of the self defense forces. Soon, he will have offensive capabilities too. So watch out North Korea, Mr. Abe might seek out and destroy your nuclear facilities.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

NK always attacks Japan for what it did in the past, now they get a chance to attack it for what it does now.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The pudgy Un is almost as funny as China and the "nine dashed line." But not quite. Then again, if they got Dennis Rodman to say it would it be funnier?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

@zootmoney: Havve you visited US defenxce Contrator's factoriea/ Look at the finished parts to be mounted, For instance Boeing. AYou will nitice Mitsubishi, SumitomoMitsui, Hitach, Kawasaki, etc. Buting USA waponery products are just part of Japan Inc profit scheme.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Japan...last month announced it will boost its military budget, spending $240 billion between 2014 and 2019 to buy fighter jets and other military hardware.

That's about $2,000 for every man, woman and child in Japan or $8,000 for a family of four. Kind of a pity that this kind of money has to be spent in such a way. Still, I guess some people will a sizable sum from this spending, but will it be Americans or Japanese?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Mendacity, anyone?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Anthony MS: wrote Better than feeding your uncle to dogs and constantly being abusive towards the rest of the world. Japan has a right to protect itself from crazier nations. Why not even Germany has a military. I think that they should all grow up and be a little more productive.

Thanks Anthony/ I watched that news in USA on many news channels that adviced us not to go to NK.'

At least Abe never made his uncle hungry for 5 days in a cage aoing with 5 dogs hungry for 5 days in next dog cage. Abe never out his uncle hungry in a cage for 5 days to next to hungry 5 dogs cage. N K think it did proper death execution.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

How many people has Japan killed by the use of war in the last 68 years? 0 How many has the PRC's lap-dog murdered in that same time period? Untold.........

Why are you comparing apples and automobiles? Why do you choose the number of 68 instead of the more round number of 70?

And I hardly think N.K. is a lap-dog of China like Japan is a lap-dog of America. N.K. is called the hermit kingdom because it is just that. Especially the last few years, with N.K. nabbing a Chinese official and impounding Chinese fishing boats and China's condemnation of NK nuke tests, we can clearly see that N.K. is pretty much out there on their own.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I'm not even sure why this even makes news here.

I think its because we all need a laugh from time to time.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

"N Korea calls Abe 'militarist maniac' "

Okay, this is exactly the mindset that is out there, they point a finger and don't realize that three fingers are pointing right back at them.

2013 North Korea says it won't warn South before it attacks. 2010 North Korea lobs bombs at Yeonpyeong island.

Now, it claims that Abe is a 'militarist maniac'!

How many people has Japan killed by the use of war in the last 68 years? 0

How many has the PRC's lap-dog murdered in that same time period? Untold.........

Come on wake up west, its like what can we do??

We will never get a deal unless they ge nuclear bombs. So ether do a deal or does stuff like this.

Its clear they will never do a deal. I hate to say never, but there will never ever be a deal unless they get to keep a amount of nuclear bombs. The CIA can send all the pro basketball players and all sports pros, or Clinton "again" That let them get a nuclear bomb, but Nothing is ever going to happen.

The reason why he does not want a market is clear. A market to him means some other people get super rich, then people get money. He 100% think's a market will just put more pressure on him to quit. "that means death sentence.

Nothing you CIA people do, will see them get rid of there nuclear weapons 100%.

We need action. We need to let them think we will come to a deal. We will say they can keep some nuclear bombs, and after 2016 they can not test anymore nuclear bombs "under ground".

What we then do it see them test another 6 + nuclear bombs, leaving them with only 3 small Hiroshima size bombs. So we let them test them, only to see them test some of them. This way the have less nuclear bombs if we have to start war..

As it stands they need to make the nuclear bomb explosives or " detonator explosives" 100 times smaller then the explosives that blow up there nuclear bombs under ground. So they 100% can not put a nuclear bomb on a missile. That will take them at least 7-9 more years "to learn how 2".

I would say SK should start spending $2-3 billion on building mass cheap blimps in there country. They could cover Sole, with 10,000 + cheap blimps, that will stop mass NK artillery rounds from killing people in the city, and see damage to a minimum.

NK can strike SK with mass artillery Rounds, and they need to put up blimps everywhere over Sole. America can take out 99% of NK artillery rounds within 18 hours. NK makes them pop out them go back in. America will take most of them out, or berry them under dirt anyway. We there rounds to in side deep anyway.

Kim is a pig that needs to be take out. He mass murders so many people and is 1 sick F

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Says a country that ''threatens'' the whole world with nuclear weapons... and never does a thing.

I don't understand this statement. Why is "threatens" in quotes? When did N.K. say anything about the entire world?

Can I get a quote or some evidence? Or is this just exaggeration for the fun of it?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Criticism coming from North Korea is rich, yes but doesn't mean they are wrong. Truth also hurts.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

LOL that's rich for someone who executes members of their own family, not to mention the torture of thousands of his own civilians!

Seriously, the guy lives in an alternate universe...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

"Iknow you are but what am I?"

Shinzo Abe, 2014
-2 ( +1 / -3 )

One way to teach Abe a good lesson is to lob one of the nuclear missiles over into Tokyo and destroy it, Abe and the Yasukuni Shrine. End of story.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Abe's a little better than the North Korean leader. I choose Abe over the other maniac.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Japan is increasing its military capability because china force it to.

Well that's generally the Japanese line. "Why should we have to keep listening to Korean and China telling us about the horrors we actually perpetrated upon them?"

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

hahahaha laugh so much by reading this news. Japan is increasing its military capability because china force it to. Whos to blame?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Never before has the saying "It takes one to know one." ever held so true.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Better than feeding your uncle to dogs and constantly being abusive towards the rest of the world. Japan has a right to protect itself from crazier nations. Why not even Germany has a military. I think that they should all grow up and be a little more productive.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Well it goes like this little fat-boy has nuclear weapons and the gear to deliver it and they will if pushed use it it is about time Abe started to listen to what he is saying to everyone himself then spend a little time Thinking about his own actions it is almost like my countries new Prime minister he don't think out the things he says or does first. Think then speak don't ramble on or tell big white whoppers, lies as they always catch up with you the best approach in all things is think about the consequences of ones actions first. Before speaking on any subject if it was traditional of past don't make it right now as times have changed as well as annexation is not a valid reason to take up disputed territory without some action from other parties if Abe's actions lead to another world war he has only himself to blame. for all of his country annulation from some lesser stable government.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

The way some of you laugh at Kim is the same way we laugh at Abe. We understand your sentiments. So maybe you will understand ours. These 2 pots are black. History will show who is blacker and cause trouble for the world!

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

The weird thing is that the NKs publish their stuff thru a Japanese website - http://www.kcna.co.jp/index-e.htm. Presumably their net doesn't work well enough. Always worth a visit if you need some comic relief.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I seldom agree with anything North Korea says or does, but this time they are pretty much spot on

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Well if it comes out of North Korea the truth must be the exact opposite.

Ummm, no. I would not call Abe a maniac, but God help us all if you cannot see that he is militaristic too.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Both Abe and Young NK leader have vision of war and poverty instead of peace and prosperity. Both of them dedicated to promoting East Asia conflict with Yakuza gangster mentality. If both of them are no longer in power, that world will be more peaceful and calmer.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Well, North Korea happens to be correct about Abe, but it's still the pot calling the kettle black.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

I think North Korea says this more as a PR move than anything else.

The reason is simple: very few people really know just how militarily effective the DPRK Army actually is. They may have a lot for "show," but are they ready for a long, grinding war if North Korea actually tries to invade southward or take actions beyond that using ballistic missiles against Japan?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Ha ha naughty boy crying. He needs to practice shooting with live fire on his people for fun.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

If the shoe fits...

1 ( +2 / -1 )

feelgood news article, but don't blame JT, north korean media started it.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

N.Korea, meanwhile, is only interested in their handsome leader's birthday party and a good game of basketball with friends.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

North Korea on Sunday lashed out at Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for seeking to revise Tokyo’s pacifist post-World War II constitution, calling him a “militarist maniac”.

The pot calls the kettle black. I should have known that China's lapdog would start barking, mimicking its master, expressing the exact same opinion because, let's face it, they aren't stable enough to have their own rational opinion. North Korea are a drink away from donning tinfoil caps and claiming that the Martians are coming.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Actually, this is no different from what China and SKorea are calling Mr. Abe.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

No comment necessary, it's just laughable.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Kim is in panic and calls Abe maniac.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Really, nothing needs to be said.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

I'd bet Abe couldn't care less of this name calling. this is all NK can do.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

tmarie get a real job

1 ( +2 / -1 )

They have no credence or influence at all.

I beg to differ. They have plenty of influence. Just not positive influence.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

NK is the last country to say anything about being a militaristic maniac. Even mentioning that is the funniest joke of the day.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Sorry Bertie, these words from North Korea mean the exact opposite is true. Abe is no 'militarist maniac' - he's a man of peace and vision, dedicated to promoting prosperity in East Asia.

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Takes one to know one.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Just because the pot is way blacker than the kettle, doesn't mean the kettle isn't black when the pot calls it so.

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

Who cares about anything that the North Korean nutjobs say or think ? They have no credence or influence at all.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

This article however, is definitely a case of lil'kim not looking in the mirror before opening his fat mouth

4 ( +5 / -1 )

When you look up the expression, 'The pot calling the kettle black' in the dictionary, there is a photo of Un and the caption under the photo reads 'miltarist maniac'.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Japan sure does have some reasonable, sensible and balanced neighbours, don't they.

It is all the fault of nasty neighbors which has never been positive and tolerated about Japan. Japan should ask all unwanted neighbors for packing and leaving from Asia.

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

Why does Japan Today write headlines like this?

N Korea calls Abe 'militarist maniac?'

Are we supposed to believe that 24.76 million people stood up, as one man, and pointed their collective fingers at Abe?

Doesn't the finger pointer have a name?

But I agree with tmarie. Abe and his gang of unseen "advisors" are taking this country down a dark path.

-5 ( +9 / -14 )

Anyone who gives credence to what North Korea's state-owned media says about other countries' leaders and foreign policies should give their head a shake. C'mon, 'militarist maniac', 'behave themselves'? Well, I for one won't behave myself in condemning NK as the hellhole it is for everything from human rights to self-sufficiency. It's still in a state of war, for crying out loud!

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Coming from the country that executes their own family members.

This is too funny to be taken seriously.

11 ( +14 / -4 )

Comments #1, #2, and #3, NK has called South Korea even worse names for years and years. Nobody in SK takes them seriously and instead laugh at them. That's how NK works, and I'm not even sure why this even makes news here.

-6 ( +13 / -19 )

Yes, pot, kettle, black and I hate to say this but NK is correct. Abe is taking this country down a dark path and while NK is really in no position to comment, they aren't wrong - this time.

-12 ( +11 / -24 )

I'm not crazy, because I said so!

Japan sure does have some reasonable, sensible and balanced neighbours, don't they.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Is this a joke? That's tantamount to being referred to as a "thief" by a murderer. (perpetrators of a bloody purge)

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Haha look who's talking!

13 ( +14 / -1 )

Says a country that ''threatens'' the whole world with nuclear weapons... and never does a thing.
