The Norks are talking out of their asses again

Japan abducted hundreds of thousands Koreans when Hideyoshi Toyotomi invaded Korea two times in 1592 and 1597. They were scholars, ceramic makers and slaves. When we say too much about the unfortunate abductees, they may bring up this historical case as their card.

North Korea should return abductees to their homeland. Shoupenhauer, Koreans were free to return to their country during this time, however, they decide to stay for their convenience.

I also agree that Japan is 100% in the right, but also feel it is indeed ironic that they hold this kind of thing overseas to make a big show of it at the UN. What's more they, if South Korea makes a speech to the UN about the comfort women issue, or puts up a memorial in another nation, people in Japan jump up and down and say it's not the kind of issue Koreans have a right to express in other nations, etc. etc.

I'm just surprised Suga hasn't announced that, "Immediately after the meeting on NK's failure to address the abduction issue at the UN, Japan will express it's sincere hope that North Korea will come back to the table for the six nation talks. We expect your cooperation.".

So all those sanctions lifted from Japan with NK promising to look into it where for nothing?

Before Japan expects to resolve the issue of 13 citizens abducted by North Korea, it should first solve the issue of the approx 200,000 women it abducted from Korea (and other countries) to serve as sex slaves. And yes, the two topics are relevant. If Japan showed greater sincerity towards resolving the sex slaves issue, it might find greater cooperation from North Korea over its abductions of Japanese citizens in the 1970s

Why? Neither excuses the other, and there is no reason one should be dealt with before or after the other. They should both be dealt with now.

this is totally ridiculous on Japans part, it will do nothing in pressuring NK to resolve this issue, just recently Kim Jong-un ordered the execution of 15 senior officials including several who complained about his policies, this is the type of recalcitrant looney your dealing with. Just like his father maybe even worse. oh and he possesses nuclear weapons

Much more recent is the 700.000 Korean brought to Japan to work as slave labor basically during the occupation of Korea by Japan. No apologies for that from Japan.

First Paragraph:....blah..blah..blah...saying the issue had been resolved . I'm sure people thought the same thing about the "Comfort Women".

Forgot about that. So, that's approximately 700,000 slave labourers from Korea, as well as approximately 200,000 sex slaves - for 13 Japanese citizens abducted by North Korea. Methinks Japan has the bigger issue to fix first

It has already been completely resolved long time ago,

This sounds exactly like something Japan would say too!

Why does the drnk statements make news. They are all bogus like their government Jt please stop reporting dtnk bs.

both of these issues should be dealt with and I do feel for the parents of the abductees.

Agreed, but which issue came first? I think you'll find it was the sex slaves, while the abductions of Japanese took plance in the 1970s.

So to follow in your "logical" footsteps issues "only" should be discussed by their age? Rather narrow minded opinion in my opinion. Countries would never get anything done in cooperation if this was the rule.
