Japan's Defence minister should be more worried about Japan than saying things like the intended target might be Guam! He is just trying to sidestep the issue here. Just two days ago North Korean officials said that they will sink Japan and still this defence minister is trying to sidestep the issue by talking about Guam! I wonder what he is smoking up there...

This guy needs to learn to shut his yap about things he only "thinks" might happen instead of blathering on to the media and putting some people into a panic. Guam is a threat only, but this guy wants to push the US on the edge and get them more gung-ho into doing Japan's battles for them, giving them more weapons, and furthering Abe's agenda. This is the same fool that wants US bases off Okinawa when NK is a peak threat to the region.

Blame AFP. A lot of people have said the obvious, that 3700 km puts Guam in it's range. It's not like Onodera called a special press meeting to declare the obvious.

I really have to wonder what this comment means, as NK has specifically targeted, aimed and flown missiles over Japanese controlled land and waters with not even a slap.  Just exactly what doesnt' he understand about sinking Japan that is ignored and thought of Guam instead.  Hmmm...The target in Japan mentioned have been the US base in northern Japan and the US base south of Tokyo ,  There is not mention of Guam as a part of the rhetoric when it involves Japan.

Japan seems to have great difficulty in choosing a competent Defence Minister.

Thank you, Captain Obvious!

With due respect to the people of Guam I'll be much more interested to hear from defence minister of Japan whether Japan is ready in case Kim has Tokyo "in mind".

Picture of Defense minister reading NK leader's mind using telepathy.

Because it is not Japan but Abe who is choosing.

I see. Parroting same BS as dictated by the boss. Do we still have competent leadership?

NK hardly has Guam on its mind, or any other landmass. Onodera is, in a cowardly way, asking for the US to do the heavy lifting and dirty work he is too afraid to.

What a scoundrel.
