What is the honor of Trump meeting with Kim - murderer of his brother?  U.S. does not care crimes of Kim so long as they do not threaten U.S. with nukes and missiles.  Abductions?  "It is not my business." "Decide between Japan and North Korea."

Definitely it is not a fake news.

When't the next election in Japan? August or September is it?

I am not necessarily opposed to meeting between the leaders of the two, three, four, or five countries. However, the idea that Trump should get a Nobel Peace prize is pretty laughable. More like he should get the Fool's Gold prize. Nice and shiny, but meaningless.

The J-government sounds desperate and weak. They are spreading unconfirmable rumors because dRump announced shutting Japan out of the next publicity stunt meeting.

Hopeful and praying everyone is enlightened. There is too much hate in this world.

Very promising to hear Chairman Kim is listening to Trump and PM Abe. So much for all those who said it was a “waste of time” Trump meeting the Chairman. This is also a good sign to build on for the upcoming PM Abe-Chairman Kim Summit.

These are just rumors and PR to stir up support for the elections like someone said earlier. Abe is as strong as a wet noodle!

Two overweight scam artists in the picture and the weak J-government hoping to scam the voters in their respective countries.

Kim can't get his way, so he shoot failed missiles into the ocean. Trump fails so goes to Twitter to whine. Abe can't get his way, so he brings up the abduction issue.

All three weak leaders are playing the same broken record when their support starts to fall.

Trump to abe on feb 28. Abe told the people of japan on May 6. Very dodgy.

For Abe, securing the return of all abductees has been one of his avowed political goal.

Is the person who wrote this work at the PR section of the PM. Who is he trying to deceive.

Japanese Government is noticing.

North Korea was being incompetent and wasn't managing a kidnaped person.

North Korea can't answer Japan clearly.

All these bilateral meetings are useless. It's a circus.

Yesterday: North Korea fire missiles over Sea of Japan

Today: Breaking news! A source suddenly unveiled for the first time that something was said some months back about an issue close to the PM's heart.

For Abe, securing the return of all abductees has been one of his avowed political goals. However, among leaders of major countries dealing with the North Korean nuclear issue, he remains the only one who has not been able to hold talks with Kim.

Quite so, Abe is not the leader as some here like to think!

Aren't you the one that was making claims that Abe was the "king of summits" a "great leader" and other such nonsense?

You can keep hoping, but by the time Abe gets a chance to talk with Kim everything of importance to him will already have been decided, without Abe's interference.

"Signs" are one thing, actions are something totally different!

Japan has said it will normalize relations with North Korea if North Korea abandons its nuclear and missile programs, and solves the abduction issue.

yeah right....

Yesterday: North Korea fire missiles over Sea of Japan

Not over Japanese territory. Just like USA & SK also fired missiles yesterday.

However, among leaders of major countries dealing with the North Korean nuclear issue, he remains the only one who has not been able to hold talks with Kim.

And therein lies the mistake, Japan is not a major power. Economically yes to a point but in all other measures of power it simply is not. If like Fat Boy you don’t give a fig for Japan’s economic “might” then you have no leverage.

So much for all those who said it was a “waste of time” Trump meeting the Chairman.

two sumits ,some demands on a piece of paper, NK still has its nukes, still has its missiles and can still test them, seem like we're at the beginning again, to many that would classify as a “waste of time” Apart from the sumits the only waste of time i can see was Trump's celebratory round of golf and chocolate cake

Not over Japanese territory.

yet they've shown in the past they have the capability to do that and much further, theyve also nuclear capable weapons, so what's your point. Id say Kim is just showing some constraint, continue to ignore him or make demands with no concrete concessions and ID even predict more missile tests possible even over Japan. Your move Trump, Abe well he really has no say or power as to what happens next.

Its easy to dismiss this if your family is not affected by abduction. Closure for families is important.
