N.Korean missiles , indeede???.is trump trying to draw attention another way so that the world do not know his failures ???.

Failure? Trump managed to change the NK rethoric from threats of nuclear armaggedon to talking about peace. In what world is that a "failure"? Unless your opinion sources are only CNN et al.

There is no "N Korea threat". The N Korea regime would collapse the moment China stopped supporting it. And the missiles that Kim occasionally fires into the sea of Japan are not a "threat", they are part of a political kabuki show.

Bottle this little monster up. Let nothing in or out and then watch Kim and NK self-implode.

Grim faces one and all. 'Tis not the season to be merry. It reminds me of Hitler's last days in the bunker.

If anyone dared to laugh or even smile, they would most probably be taken out and shot.

Its been a while since NK gave his southern sibling a bully lesson. Kim are you sleeping?

The fact that a country like North Korea still even exists in this day and age never ceases to amaze me. It’s like another completely separate world of crazy propped up and capitulated by the two (three, four?) neighboring , vested interests and competing foes for leverage.

Complete madness really, but i guess us humans are still not too good at cooperating on a large scale yet. It’s becoming so ridiculous that it may even speed up the process within a generation or two. One things for sure, the history students of the future will be intrigued.

Clearly Kim has no interest in firing ICBMs or other weapons directly at his neighbours. Self-defence is not an issue; since no one ever mentioned the need to remove he or his predecessors until they acquired nuclear weapons, all he has to do to be left entirely in peace is dismantle them. His interest is in status; no US presidents bothered talking to Enver Hoxha while Albania was simply a tiny, impoverished brutal regime, and he knows it. He'll never go back to that. Since he knows everyone is very reluctant to attack him, he'll just string this out as long as he can. He doesn't actually care about the living conditions in North Korea, so I doubt he's terribly concerned about the sanctions. Since he hates the Chinese, the Japanese and the South Koreans pretty much equally, there seems little those three can do about it. People can keep offering sanctions relief until their tongues wither, but if the trade-off is no nuclear weapons, he's not going to buy it. He might well play along and give appropriate lip service, but a nuclear-free North Korea is the one thing he will never tolerate.

North Korea is like the shortest kid in the class, who also happens to have the biggest mouth and yells all the time.

Pyongyang has grown increasingly frustrated that its halt of nuclear and long-range missile tests has not ended the crippling economic sanctions against it.

They have been told they have to take steps to denuke if they want sanctions lifted.

Sucks to be in Abe's shoes. The only 'allies' he has in that region are both countries that indoctrinate their citizens in hatred of all things Japanese from a very young age even in the school systems. And now they are supposed to have a 'united' front against North Korea?

Yesterday, on another article, Akie was claiming that Abe should get the Nobel Peace Prize for his accomplishments in Iran. Like I said, he has no credibility if he can't deal with the countries in his own backyard.

All three leaders of these countries conveniently use each other as whipping boys to stir up nationalism whenever their people's support begin to wane because they turn their attention to domestic issues and their leader's incompetence .

I would think the best way for peaceful relations with NK is , again , inclusivity. Lift the sanctions and grant them rights to participate in free trade after these donkey years of hurting the population. With trade , other aspects of interaction will easily manifest themselves, and with them, more options of a lasting solution.

I surrender myself to the fact that Kim will not destroy his nukes -- a dream from Granddaddy to him, and he's seen both Saddam and Gaddafi literally taken out in gutters/ holes . Don't forget, also that, they're borrowing from the Chinese playbook where China built nukes then, only then did Chairman Mao negotiate with Nixon. ( position of strength).

Given the opportunity to freely trade and associate, he will have a stake in the well being of the relationships , but , I don't see him being friendly to people who deny his country basic necessities. Keep this up and you'll lose sleep over the missiles flying overhead. Peace is a luxury of people with a full stomach.

And it speaks volumes the usual crowd on here, including those that claim to support human rights and equality for all, will blindly side with a horrible human rights violating regime like Kim's against all things Japanese.

What a “statement”

Of course we stand with Japan in this matter, your comment ultra right wing comment doesn’t give you honour.

Japan sometimes got criticized within the limit of a just and democratic state that is why we call it democracy you know?

Norht Korea is simply the negation of the two words you typed before which are “human rights”.

And yes the situation in this part of the world region is very delicate.

PM Abe, on the other hand, is an experienced man who knows how to handle situations like these.

Evidence of this please? He has not handles situations like that well at all. Hence we are at this point.

Kim is young and thinks he can last forever. PM Abe, on the other hand, is an experienced man who knows how to handle situations like these. Hope peace is achieved with that lunatic.

Kim will outlast Shin-chan and Koizumi Jr.
