I don't know if any country is carrying WWI luggage. But as far as WWII is concerned, The U.S., UK, Australia all who fought Imperial Japan in WWII have moved on and in fact are even allies. The China that fought Japan, the ROC is now Taiwan and they have no WWII issues with Japan. The PRC, which took over China 4 years after WWII ended, plays the WWII card against Japan on and off like a faucet depending on what benefits them the most at the time. South Korea, which was part of the Japanese Empire from 1910 to 1945 and fought against the allied powers is the most hypocritical vociferous offender having engaged in revisionist history since WWII ended with a psychological fixation on blaming and hating Japan on a near national level. So truth is, most of the world has moved on.

Because victimization is the new normal popularized by Israel.

Why doesn't the World forget what happened in WW1 and WW2 and move on? But, don't let it happen again!

Well said extanker.
These people say one thing, and yet their actions speak something else completely.
It's never about things like righting past wrongs, seeking justice, or whatever other reason they come up with. These never ending comfort women memorials, organizations, etc., are simply a way for Koreans to continuously bait and harass Japan.
Like I always say, it wouldn't matter if the Prime Minister of Japan one day groveled on his knees for forgiveness and gave 1 trillion dollars in reparations to South/North Koreans, the anti-Japan crowd would still claim that Japan has 'never' apologized or properly shown atonement.
What a farce.
Do the hustle
Yeah, we know the Japanese used Korean labor during their imperial rule in the first half of last century. We also know Korea has launched many of these campaigns over the last 70 odd years. We also know Japan has made many apologies, paid lots of money and signed many documents referring to the use of forced labor. I really don’t think Korea needs another committee and campaign for it. In the words of Anna the snow queen, “Let it go!”

Here we go again. Korea '....Solving the compensation issue...' year after year even though it has been settled multiple times.

Another shot at pretending that they never signed the 1965 Treaty and taking any responsibility for it. Again ignoring that it covered compensation for "all individuals who suffered". So now they will make a lot of noise about Forced Labor, reach an official agreement that includes compensation from Japan, an official apology, and a clause declaring that the issue is settled permanently. Then break it a couple months later just like the Comfort Women Agreement of 2015. What South Korea needs to do first is to un-do the historical revisionism and brainwashing of the population since the end of WWII that has created this condition. Only then can attempts like these actually resolve issues permanently,

They say they want this
but it's never going to happen because they can't go a day without this
It seems like 'comfort women' fell out of the spotlight so they needed to find something else they could demand an apology for.
By all means, study the past and keep the history alive, but don't let yourself get stuck there. Something Korea can't seem to do.
