Good to see the elements of corruption remain within the organs of government. That peers are not held accountable within ruling party.

What, if anything, violates LDP ethics code?

The opposition parties are pathetic. Corporate dinners, in and of themselves, are not a crime. And it is not grounds for a motion of censure on this matter.

If the opposition parties have suspicions of an alleged crime. For a matter of influence peddling. What they have to do is to file a complaint, before the competent court. And let the public prosecutor's office be the one to open proceedings with the corresponding investigation. And once this process is open, the opposition parties. They appear as plaintiffs in the criminal proceedings.

This is how one should start, the political battle to defeat the LDP. In a long-term strategy. Not by taking useless actions, such as a not very credible motion of censure.
