Unfortunately it won't become an issue during the election. Not that many people seem to care about this treaty and what it rightfully stands for. Japan would be stuck in a very difficult position if it did sign the treaty as many US warships that make port visits here, or are stationed here in Japan, could very well be carrying nukes, and Japan would be forced to say no.

Fun Fact: This initiative was started in Australia 10 years ago and has grown to what it is today. This seems to have sliped the notice of all but the Australian reports.
