President Barack Obama vowing not to tolerate the communist state’s “old pattern of provocation.”

Old pattern of provocation = NK's 'traditions/culture or bad habits created and tolerated by those who are complaining now.

Warning doesn't seem to work.

Un probably is enjoying a good laugh on this warning. The missile had a good chance of failure, but the bomb has been proven to be successful. A parade of papier mache missiles is not the same as a detected explosion recorded by a spy satellite. It will be detonated unless food shipments start immediately. What a disgrace.

What is the point.......doesn`t anyone understand that NK will do whatever it wants, regardless of what other countries say or do.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

why these warnings? they're going to end up not doing anything anyway.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

NK does whatever the nutjobs in charge decide to do, with little or no regard for possible consequences. And with China on their backdoor, they know no one will really do anything but huff and puff and threaten to cut off food aid. So, in fact, the looney holds the trump card(no relation to the Donald).

Obama said that Noda had compared his own “leadership style to that of a point guard in basketball

sits on the bench

america and japan spent useless billions on that fake missile defence. i kept saying its a waste of dolare. always getting played by the north koreans. u think warning them will do anything? there is no shortage of food in north korea. china is helping them. japan should stop listening to US.

There is very little more they can do to the Peoples Republic. Any invasion of the North will lead to a much larger conflict. So what will they do? Threaten to cut off imported food supply and starve many more innocents to death?

That's just junior showing his people he is the boss and the West can't do anything against it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

They're going to go through with the test if they want to, and that's that. Junior is just showing that he CAN follow in Daddy's footsteps, and any uproar by other nations (and such uproar is of course valid) will only further strengthen the image of defiance and strength (at least the latter in NK's eyes). AFTER the test there may be hope of making progress -- like I said, Junior first wants to establish that he can wear the big-boy pants.

Anyway, there's not a whole lot any other nation can do except sit back and see what happens.

Obama can stomp his feet and whine all he wants..He has absolutely no authority over any other sovereign nation. Yeah,North Korea is building and testing Nuclear weapons, but so is India,Pakistan,China,Russia, the US,Iran, and others...There are many of countries with nukes pointed directly at North Korea too such as those in South Korea,Japan, Guam, and also there are US nuclear Submarines and other Naval vessels carrying nuclear missles within range of North Korea..Could you emagine the uproar if North Korea Had Ships and subs with nuclear missles sitting a few hundred miles of the US coast...You can bet The US would not tolerate such actions...IMO the US should stop trying to police the world and instead move toward accepting that the US has no authority beyond her own borders.. .Cutting of food and medical aide to North Korea does little to deter any of their military build up...The only thing accomplished by cutting off aide shipments is the continued suffering of millions of people that have no control or say in the matter...Starve the masses????? How does that help anything? The US has applied this same type of cruel and inhumane policy towards to Cuba for decades..Didn't bother Castro one iota. The US is attempting to isolate Iran from free trade with other nations also. All this does is further escalate the tensions... allowing human suffering in the name of politics is horrible. How can countries like Cuba,Iran and North Korea defend themselves from invasion with out proper defensive weapons and strong military forces...The US use it's Military superiority as a big stick to beat the smaller countries into submission... Obey the US or face the consequences, yeah I am sure thats going to work real well.

Obama ran for POTUS on the platform of being open to dialog and co-operation with other countries...He received a Nobel peace prize?? He offered a promise that he would lead the US and world in a peaceful manner and stop trying to be a nation builder in foreign lands...He pretended to be a dove but instead has been a very aggressive hawk.. Meet the new boss, the same as the old boss!

Obama has shown the worst kind of 'cowardice' after his trip to the 38th parallel! The US airbase were just minutes away of North Korea, yet no actions will taking to take out their nuclear/missile producing sites! What does he knows beside a mouth blaming China for not taking the so called 'responsibility!

@Steve Mcgrew: Do not overestimate Mr Obama or maybe a future Republican president. In the issue of North Korea, it is definately a 'Russian shilloute' game! Uncle sam was very very very annoyed by messing with this 'little viper' (North Korea) An attack on North Korea is bringing Russia, China into an all out war, a stake too high! “Japan has remained an indispensable world leader even in the face of unthinkable tragedy,” Clinton said. Wether Mr Noda is an 'indispensible world leader' is something a bit hilarious( his days in office is numbered) but that 'unthinkable tragedy' is for sure! The big brothers were watching this little brother 'closely' and 'seriously'!

bigguy...I don't think NK is as big of a threat as you portray it to be. This whole evil NK idea is being pushed around and sold just as the threat of Iraq being a threat to the US and free world...as it turns out Iraq was of little threat to anyone. The only thing gained from the Iraq war was a larger military build up of US weapons and forces. billions upon billions of dollars wasted, much death and spilled blood of soldiers and civilians and a destroyed country...No one can possibly believe that the Iraq people as a whole is better off today than before the US invasion. The US has nothing to gain by launching an attack on NK or the NK missile facilities. Same goes for Iran...They have not launched an attack or even tested a long range missile test launch..No nuclear bomb testing either..And the us,after years of war efforts,is leaving Afghanistan is in far worse shape both politically and in terms of infrastructure and civility than even after the Russian invasion...War and warring are a waste of life and resources and should only be implemented as a defensive action in response to an attack...Attacking another country or invading because of paranoid belief or political strife are unethical/illegal under both international and US law and policy,It is also just plain dumb......

garomakaikishi Well said totally agree besides Japan SHOULD STOP giving money to America . Why they do that??????

I like the new sanctions and how they will deal with nk, I hope they provoke them out into their destruction. Also I hope the american rapests or block heads do get off okinawa sooner then later. Or sanctions stating that they are not aloud to leave from base camps. Okinawa is not american. Japan does not need popose american tourists running around.

Here we go again, the Americans have to have THEIR finger up everyones backside in the World. The Party is over in the U.S... Let the Koreans settle this problem. And the Americans settle the Mountain of problems they have.

Obama needs to leave North Korea alone and worry about his own country while kids on the street are starving under his supervision. He promised to lower taxes but do I see lowered taxes as well as gas.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

My advice to his excellency is America better wipe off North Korea or this little viper will bites! And if America stuck in another long and costly war will be my most grateful!

Either it is a game, which goes on and on or someone is being constantly played for a fool, or both.
