Kan ,call his bluff, call an election ,go back to the people, let the japanese people vote.

If Ozawa wins...what is that...4 PMs in 2 years?? The DPJ is more focused on party politics than the problems/crisis that Japan faces. Give Kan a chance and more time...and stop the revoveling door of PMs.

Agreed. Let the people decide! Screw this old idiot Ozawa whom NO ONE likes!

prinzjay: No, if Ozawa wins it's 3 PMs in FOUR months, and 6 PMs in less than four years.

Now, if Ozawa loses I hope Kan shows him the door and tells him to get the heck out. Doubt he has the courage to do so, but one can still hope.

Do the people even get to vote?

Tansaibo politician not so pure and simple.

So even with all-out cooperation of the media, the immune system of the harmonious society of Japan is getting dysfunctioning against reforming virus? Older period is really ending.

No the people do not vote, only the Lower and Upper House members of the DPJ.

If it were a snap election then the LDP and all other parties would have candidates running.

This is ONLY a DPJ leadership election, not a parliamentary election.

If Ozawa comes into power, things will get worse, worse and worse. Does he think or assume he will make it past 3 years in offce ? Someone needs to put a stop to this because (ESPECIALLY OZAWA) they are not helping the people of Japan at all !!!! Ozawa is only helping Ozawa !!!!

only Ozawa can save Japan but who is out there to save Ozawa?! Pity, good man will not survive this race.

Ozawa is way shrewd enough to know when the time is right to strike. He has wanted the PM job for 20 years and has stood back with 'health issues' and been pushed back by scandal, but I firmly believe he will be Japan's next PM. He's not so stupid to enter a fight he's not confidant of winning.

Ozawa is like a boxer who has been biding his time to take on a title fight. This is Ozawa's moment. His declaration today to fight Kan is the beginning of the end for this month's PM.

If the DPJ loses its marbles and votes for Ozawa, then it, and Japan, is finished.

Can`t someone just hand Ozawa a fishing rod with some bait, and point in the direction of the nearest body of water.

Nobody believes him when he starts up with "Nihon no tame ni..."

What would go through Obama`s mind while reading his track record, if he were to become his counterpart.

This Ozawa is ruining the last chances his party had to do something to change this country.. what a greedy guy!!

Stop the bitching and time wasting, and try solving the economy.

Even if Ozawa does not become prime minister this is a clear example that the Japanese political system is a chaotic mess and irrelevant.

You have to wonder what kind of ego Ozawa has; and how firm his grip on reality is, to try this type of stunt. The public will punish the DPJ if Ozawa becomes PM. There's no fool like an old fool.

He ain't nothing but a Tansaibo, single celluloid, simple-minded politician.

Tansaibo

Is that the newest Japanese word you have learned? You seem to enjoy using it. Couldn't agree more about using the word to describe Mr. Toad.
