I suspect that the notion that "he might (heaven forbid!) chew gum in front of the Emperor" is the least of officials worries about it.

He is a foul mouthed murderous nutter!

as abes ambition is to change the constitution and kill some people, he can get good tips. as for Duterte, i expect he will be so happy to get a big fat envelope of japenese taxpayers money, a few helicopters and some warships.

Instead of an invitation to Tokyo Duterte and his criminal entourage should be served international arrest warrants and flown tout de suite to the Hague.

Biggest scumbag in Asia. Duterte is nothing more than a narcissist sociopath who was handed a license to mass murder thousands by the population of the Philippines. What's worse is that they still supported him long after reports were going out about the execution-without-trial killings happening all over the country. This guy shouldn't be visiting anywhere except a jail cell.

Duterte have the full and warm support of 82% of his people.

Only the hypocrite foreigners who rely on the local media who are owned by the traditional oligarch opposition thinks otherwise.

He is the only president who dared to tackle deep seated graft and corruption and the well oiled drug cartels head on.

State universities are now free!

Those who can't afford their medicines are promptly given assistance.

Yet people who have not experienced living in the hell hole that was the PH are the quickest to judge.

I'm pretty sure if any one of this well heeled hypocrites ever run for office in the PH they will surely get clobbered by Duterte just like the NYK gets jettisoned by the DUBS! Lol!

Wise leaders should be capable of better solutions than shooting dead anyone who displeases them. Knowing the way things typically work in the Philippines, it's only a matter of time before somebody gives Duterte a dose of his own medicine, in the form of a full metal jacketed bullet.

Emperor doesnt want to see him, yet under Duterte crime in philiphined went down by a third.

Only the oligarch opposition and the drug people in the PH say Duterte kills those he doesn't like.

The last time I checked with Naha's best bass player from the PH, Trillanos who is a staunch critic of Duterte is still alive and partying with Marc Rubio in Florida.

But it's true that the killing culture in the PH was already there before Duterte and they are blaming it on him now!

He is a strong leader who kills all the drug lords in his country. He should be praised for what he is doing.
