Japan’s government said Thursday it is closely watching military activities by Russia following reports it conducted tests of submarine-launched missiles in the Sea of Japan, in its latest military exercises off the Japanese coast following its invasion of Ukraine.

Russia to Japan: We know you are are doing your little virtue signaling, currying favor dance with your Western allies to support the sanctions on the Ukrainian front while you keep buying our oil and selling tobacco.

But don't be thinking of any fancy moves over here twinkle toes.

This was a direct threat to America. Not Japan. However, we all know how weak Russia is now that the cat is out of the bag. Barking dogs have no bite.

Well, they have already lost the *Moskva** today (they refuse to say how it sank, so one is left to ponder the quality of today's deep water "fleet"). And if you use any search engine, you will find a long list of Russian sub accidents; frequent enough that they should be followed by a ship with lots of sponges and mops); So frequent, in fact, that that its a surprise that they will risk them away from the coast, out of the range of rescue helicopters and coast guard.

If you can, buy the newly-released postage stamp. See: https://www.wsj.com/livecoverage/russia-ukraine-latest-news-2022-04-14/card/russian-warship-moskva-is-featured-in-new-ukrainian-postage-stamp-6qEW3wsyWdSsEP7CeVWq.

I wonder if they teach Russian navy cadets about Togo Heihachiro? No, likely not. Why spoil things for them in advance? Happy sailing!

I jsut wonder why Putin is very afraid of the NATO? Putin thinks NATO would invade Russia someday? More European countries would join in the NATO because they are afraid of someday Russian invasion. Putin seems to be very abnormally paranoia. (I think) No country will try to invade Russia in the first place. If Putin's Russia join in the NATO, there would be no more worry about war or invasion for each other forever in Europe.

No country will try to invade Russia in the first place.

Russia has been invaded twice, just not since WW2. What countries say and what they do are very different - look at Putin's denials for months about invading Ukraine. Clearly all lies.

Part of me wonders when China will invade Russia.

And just be be extra clear, I have lots of hope for the Russian people to get better leaders and a fully working democracy. It is Putin, his advisors, and the military that I hold responsible for Ukraine the last 10 yrs.

NATO should just have promised Russia, that Ukraine and Georgia never will become members. Then all this bloodbaths could have been avoided.

Gabor Fabricus...

NATO should just have promised Russia, that Ukraine and Georgia never will become members. Then all this bloodbaths could have been avoided.

This is exactly the promise made by NATO during the fall of the Soviet Union. Sadly NATO ( well the US) NATO is basically The US and it's vassal states, broke that promise and others on several occasions.

Russia has been invaded twice, just not since WW2.

It is a long long long time ago. Time has changed. European countries just want peace there forever, not war. Russia has a lot of nuclear weapons to defend/protect its own country. It seems to me no countries try to invade Russia in the future. Otherwise it is going to be WW3, so nobody wants such war.

Japan should sail a few more ships around the four islands, copy the Chinese play book, perhaps carry out a beach landing exercise in northern Hokkaido. That should keep russian resources tied up in the east so they can’t be sent to Ukraine, perhaps fly some “reconnaissance” missions close to the 3 mile limit?

The joint exercise is more North Korea oriented than russia, but if it gets their knickers in a twist, all well and good.

Gabor, the choice whether they want to join any organisation or not is for the sovereign countries them selves to make, not imposed on them by threat by a wannabe imperialist neighbour, even less so by invading them as russia has done in both Georgia and Ukraine.

Flaccid Putin showing off.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Russian need to sit their butt down , before they do their own selves in

Maybe the two crazy countries, Russia and North Korea, will join together for military exercises.

So, that means it's an open Target

Ivan's just in time for a joint US/JPN submarine tracking exercise.
