Hypocrisy in Hangul is "Japan"

"South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Sung-Hwan warned Thursday of signs of a rightward shift in Japanese politics, including an increasingly aggressive stance on territorial issues"

Says the FM of the country that unilaterally occupied .the disputed islands and has refused 3 times to settle the matter at the ICJ. What a joke. How do you say hypocrisy in hangul?

both Korea and China seem terrified of Japan ever actually becoming like they are. Which I am too - but they should have no right to even speak on the subject based on recent history. Pure hypocrisy.

Japan/Korea/China share traits of nationalism and hypocrisy. With so much in common, they should be friends.

Ishihara shintaro is no where to be PM of japan, he is giving false hope to japanese frustrated people, this man and his family were no Blue blooded! Shinzo Abe is no where a rightist as well especially he represents the japanese industry sector who just cares japan's overseas export markets in political conflicts with hostile neighbours

Maybe these ROK conservative party (and nationalistic) politicos seek to portray themselves as moderate to their own electorate by pretending to be progressive with respect to Japanese nationalist politicos.

Is there an election coming up there?

Bruinfan - By "Everyone Party", I think you mean Minna no Tou ,which is actually "Your Party" in English. That party, while soft as LDP offshoots goes, and likeable as its leader Watanabe is, is a pure LDP offshoot, that went independent simply in the hope of pushing specific policies and getting a shot at holding cabinet portfolios. They will support the LDP agenda both on foreign policy and on constitutional reform.

The only parties on the left are the Communists (polling 2.5%), the SDP (polling around 0.5%) and Ozawa's People First Party (not registering in polls), so there is NO hope whatsoever of moderating leftist influences in the next government.

And yes, as SamuraiBlue called it- for a drooling right wing nationalistic brainwashed country that routinely engages in nationalistic and miliataristic stunts to antagonize neighbors for political gains, it is pretty fresh for South Korea to be commenting on any shift to more nationalism in Japan, which even under Abe would still pale in comparison to the right wing militarism of South Korea.

If Ishihara was PM, you would start to approach the current level of the South Korean government - as Shintaro has himself suggested what Korea does with Takeshima - fully militarized with regular inflammatory leader visits, is exactly what Japan should do with the Senkakus.

Point is, both Korea and China seem terrified of Japan ever actually becoming like they are. Which I am too - but they should have no right to even speak on the subject based on recent history. Pure hypocrisy.

This is rich from a nation that had rallied various right wing nuts for various anti-Japan protests who by the way had been beefing up their military even before any of the incidents happened.

@Seriyuu_Dan: ROK was never really Japan's ally in that sense

ROK is just worry that a LDP-lead Japan may not be pushovers like the DPJ-Japan. Instead, they may actually push back.

Thats right! Now who said China's disputes with japan is a political manupilations to blackmail Japan! Can you see there even Japan's ally Republic of Korea has no trust and resentment over Japanese politicans' conducts!

ROK was never really Japan's ally in that sense, there are the same as CHINA. ROK are just as bad as China.

I think Kim could have phrased his views a bit more softly/positively, e.g. "we hope Japanese people will look to continue improving relations with us through cooperation", rather than effectively telling Japanese people "don't vote for X or there'll be trouble".

Hopefully some of the politicians from the "Everyone Party", and Socialist Party will be elected to balance things out.
