Another day, another complaint from Korea. What about the radioactive water Seoul regularly releases into the Sea of Japan? They dont seem to want to talk about that.

I agree Japan doesnt know what its doing. Nor do they know how to manage situation. The quicker you can get outsider in and manage situation, the better for the world.

It will be safe to just release it into the Japan sea and beaches that belong to Japan they say it will be safe..problem solved

Sorry to break the news. It ain't just Korea. Taiwan? They already warned Japan that they increased radioactive monitoring units in the sea from 32 to 99 and will sue Japan if their fishing industry faces financial losses which amounts to 550 million annually. And Philippines, France, Canada, Russia etc. They're all complaining. I just love how Japanese media outlets only focus on Korea for all the wrong reasons.

Well Kerry's statements are contradicting US' recent extension banning all Fuku products. And there is a reason for all that which we will soon find out.

Why don't JAPAN use electrolysis n separate the water n use the hydrogen for toyota mirai to get some cash back otherwise contaminated water will keep on rising until the fukushima II disaster strikes again

Well, they don't trust their former leaders/historical decisions, not to mention, their own official remarks to Fukushima's water by their own scientific research just PR-ed a year ago. Flipping this much is nothing but noise=emotional or some fundamental problems, You SEE?

S Korea has 20 reactors operating now and discharging tritium into sea. Japan has 55 reactors but only 9 reactors operating and 46 are being stopped or some on maintenance and discharge into sea. S Korea is discharging much more tritium than Japan right now. I wonder how Kerry can support S Korea.

I'm not sure any of the ocean currents passing by Fukushima go in the direction of Korea or China. Fukushima is on the East Coast of Japan, bordering the Pacific Ocean and not the Japan Sea. I am relying upon Google for my info on ocean currents, so perhaps my info is flawed.

Fukushima's water goes around Pacific Ocean all the way and come back to Japan and Korea 10 years later, scientists said. In 2013 S Korean scientists officially said no problem at all about Fukushima tritium because tritium is extremely diluted in ocean at that time. But Moon changed his mind suddenly.

Another vain attempt by South Korea to get the U.S. to side with them on an anti-Japan political issue.

The core meltdown at the Fukushima nuclear power plant was caused by force majeure, an earthquake and tsunamis. TEPCO , the company that operates the nuclear power plant, cooled the meltdown core with ground water, but where did the nuclear-contaminated water have to go? So, the company started building and installing tanks after tanks, hundreds of them, to store the contaminated water.

It's said there will be no more ground space for tanks to be installed. That's why Tokyo decided to release the stored water into the sea after treating it to a harmless level. The government says tritium will be reduced one-fortieth, far below the level humans are exposed naturally. Why does the government come into play here?

Is the problem tritium only, though? Judging from strong protests lodged by South Korea and China, there must be other problems than tritium. Could anyone provide the answer?

I, for one, am opposed to nuclear power plants anywhere in the world. Humans should seek other sources of renewable energy. No more Hiroshima; no more hibakusha; no more Fukushima. Chernobyl and Three-mile Island.

Having guts means nothing without wisdom and integrity. South Korea already dumps radioactive wastewater into the ocean. Japan's plan is approved, monitored and supported by the IAEA. This is the usual political nonsense.
