Worth a read. At least if you support Democracy.

His security team completely failed him.

If you watch the Diet debates and Abe handling reporters questions. He was one of the sharpest. Did not read from his notes and argued eloquently. His speeches showed his intelligence.

Abenomics was bound to fail before it even started as it was based upon a theory that worked during the bubble era here, when anything anyone touched turned to gold.
No matter all of the reasons why he failed, no one deserves to be assassinated for it.
His legacy should be one of a PM that relied on smoke and mirrors!

Did anyone ever figure out what his “beautiful country” (美しい国) plan was because I sure didn’t and non of my Japanese friends ever had a clue either.
Ulcerative colitis - I had this. It sucked and my case wasn’t nearly as severe.
He will leave a “complicated” (to put it mildly) legacy.
Economically Abenomics was a mixed bag.
Domestically his administration’s corruption and shady ties with shady people was the thing LDP dreams are made of.
Internationally he did a great job an fostering deeper relationships with the West and confronting the rising and real Chinese threat. But at the expense of relations with S. Korea and the long efforts of many (including the former Emperor) to repair Japan’s image and legacy in Asia.
Neither the best nor the worst politician or person.
He sure as hell didn’t deserve this.

It doesn't matter what Mr. Abe did or did not, leaders will never be able to meet the needs or concerns of every citizen, but the do their best to meet the concerns of the majority as a nation.
Like it or not your democratically elected leader is your leader, it's alright to disagree, argue, contest, protest, with him or her and that how it works, it is NOT acceptable to go out and cowardly plan and plot to kill someone just because you disagree with them, the minute we cross that line then we are living in an Anarchy.

I still have the mask, never opened it or used it, I will put his name on it in his memories, RIP Mr. Abe.

Really? So nothing to do with the mountain of scandals at that time?
Thank you for clearing that up.
