His "team" seem to excel "method" to increase support or vote through social media.

But, himself has no policy or idea, empty politician who only imitate present political fashion.

A relative unknown in Tokyo before official campaigning for the July election began, Ishimaru boosted his profile through social media, gaining popularity among voters not affiliated with a party.

There is a Japanese saying 「柳の下の泥鰌」(やなぎのしたのどじょう, yanagi no shita no dojo), which literally means "a loach under the willow tree." It refers to the idea of someone expecting to find good luck or success in the same place as before, even when it's unlikely to happen again.

I caught the end of a speech / rally he gave in Shinjuku just before the mayoral election. He definitely has a lot more presence and charisma than the average Old Fart you find gunning for positions like that.

If they don't give younger politicians a chance, they're tacitly admitting that they don't want anything to change.
