Likewise if you are in the position of having suffered severe human rights abuses at the hands of a party that doesn't acknowledge them. You always talk about Japan's 'hurt feelings' but you refuse to see that Korea has a genuine grievance over the issue. The best way for Japan to stop Korea 'hurting its feelings' would be to put the matter to bed with a full, unreserved, unqualified, official apology to the comfort women (specifically to them, and not the more general, qualified & vague apologies that have been issued in the past)

Why would SK business reps say they need a swap with Japan? Swaps have nothing to do with businessmen. All they care about is business, or their own interests. Japanese keep printing anti-Korean fabricated news everyday, so this type of "news' is not really surprising in a country where anti-Korean hate books become number one sellers.

This single sentence sums up the entire problem. There are many on the Japanese right wing - most problematically including many politicians and business leaders - who refuse to accept that Japan committed any atrocities. But outside the Japanese right wing, the claim that the comfort women is a fabricated story has zero credibility. In order to move forwards, Japan's establishment needs to stop whitewashing the past.

Taiwan's president Ma spoke some wise words this week about moving forwards but also not forgetting the past. He has previously stated very clearly the comfort women system was a crime against humanity, and Taiwan is about to open a museum on the subject. It isn't only a Korean matter - there were many women from Taiwan, mainland China, and elsewhere who suffered under this system.

So who do you want an apology from, Tina? Taiwan, China, Korea, Holland, Australia, and Indonesia - for not being ok with (or forgetful of) the wartime abuse of their citizens by IJA?
