The old hiding out in the hospital (AKA Rest Cure) when there is a social/political scandal. Abe's party knows it so well. That is one less bed a COVID patient or another seriously ill person can not use.

Japan is run on cronyism and connections. Look at the ‘extensive’ list of PMs over the last twenty years. Most have relatives that were either past PMs or extremely rich and powerful.

Wonder if she is staying in a ¥70000 a night private hospital in an onsen town with views of spring flowers blooming, paid for by the govt?
