It has been 10 years and Tohoku is still not rebuilt.
But the Olympics are on. That will cheer up the people living in temporary housing.

Spreading radiation is an environmental crime.

Absolute shameless platitudinal guff.

Tohoku can wait till hell freezes over.

Liar. If he really thinks it “treated” he should drink it every morning after doing his 100 sit-ups.

If you announce the cancellation of the Olympics on Monday, you can get started the following day...

If he does this, I will send him a bottle of red wine. If that is not corruption, which seems to be the way things work.
No Olympics, Sir.

"It has been 10 years and Tohoku is still not rebuilt."
Yeah right, and I guess you have not watch or read any new stories. Here are a few samples:

Think.

I guess you didn't read the news story above. If the area has been rebuilt, there would be no reason for Suga to vow to step up rebuilding.
Think.

Well now that the important construction work has been done for the olympics the government can get back to rebuilding the destroyed lives of the people they exploited as leverage to become olympic hosts.
At first I thought this was an accidental republishing of a 2012 article. But no, 10 years later and after the massive construction for the olympics the PM is 'pledging' to do more.
There was an article in the Mainichi about a week ago how trillions and trillions of yen in aid had been appropriated for non-Tohoku related activities. As with any disaster the government is extremely adept at profiteering for its closest business friends. See Abenomask etc.
Why the Japanese people don't flush this whole corrupt government and its friends down the toilet is beyond me.
Robert Cikki
This sums it all. No actuall dates, just abstract, void. I remember our PM saying, 9 years ago, it'll be solved in a decade.

The problem are not the still never holdable promises now, but those ten years ago. That has cost them there ten years in false hopes and a ten years postponed search for a start from scratch anywhere else if they realized and would start now.
