This sounds like a total failure.

Scared of irking China because the USA economy has become so dependent on all that cheap junk that China produces .

USA really needs a better president .

Selling weapons and making movies is the only thing the USA is good at.

Biden is showing The world that he would prefer confronting our foes From afar. He does not want to engage in fisticuffs. He will do the same for Taiwan as he does for Ukraine which is we’ll back you but that’s all. He has all but given up to China’s domination of the oceans in the Pacific. He does not have the willpower To send our troops to Taiwan. Taiwan is on its own

Taiwan will be the next Ukraine... abandoned by their supposed "allies"...

Yes cos the one before him was so good and stood up to China.......the winds of the world have changed. Politics is fluid and diplomacy is needed unless you just want the world to constantly engage in killing each other all the time. The threat from China is a complicated one, they think they have the west over a barrel because they produce lots of what we need. Also the public taste for war is very low in the west. BUT the west also has a knife at Cina's throat, so much of their economy is built on providing goods that are sold in the west....if that market dries up, their economy is in the gutter.....

The reason is very simple..

Because Taiwan belongs to China.

LOOOOOL!!..

When it comes to the crunch, Biden and his tough men aren't so tough. Remember how Nancy Pelosi supposedly caught covid just before China told her not to go to Taiwan? Well, that was swept under the rug quickly. Nancy, now that you've 'recovered', surely you can visit Taiwan now?

Taiwan will be the next Ukraine... abandoned by their supposed "allies"...

USA has already abandoned Taiwan. As for semi-conductors, USA is already switching from Taiwan to South Korea. It's leaving Taiwan in the lurch (common behavior of USA as seen in Iraq and Afghanistan).

He will do the same for Taiwan as he does for Ukraine which is we’ll back you but that’s all.

Yes indeed, we've seen that with Ukraine. Fighting Russia, but making sure it's the Ukrainians and Europeans who do the fighting, and acting as cannon fodder while USA sits back, watches, supplies money (most of which goes to shady middlemen). Now Biden wants Koreans and Japanese to do USA's dirty work while risking themselves? China is the largest trading partner of both ROK and Japan. I don't want to see empty supermarket shelves in Japan - it was bad enough 2 years ago. USA should either do its own dirty work or stop creating (proxy) wars and perhaps they can spend a bit of money on its own people.

Biden should also make a stop-over at Matsumoto Kiyoshi and make an order for baby formula (and adult diapers).

Sheikh

Thats total rubbish !

China doesn't need the USA to purchase their products as China has plenty of customers.

The truth is the USA is already so in great monetary debt to China that the USA great-grandchildren will still be paying debt to China lifetimes from now !

China is tierd of making a bunch of cheap junk anyway.

They have the world's largest navy , superconductor and supercomputer.

China is still on track to be the richest economy and largest military in the world.

The colonial powers seek to slow down China with war .

Japan's having a hissy fit about it.

Same old story

It's all about chip technology so...can you imagine what deep doo doo the USA would be in if China /Taiwan and South Korea and Japan was to rid themselves of the USA parasite.

Where would the USA get enough minerals and elements to make chips and compete as a world power ?

Not simple! You LOOLOO to easy. You are TokyoLiving in Japan so you do not know what the people of Taiwan want. You never lived in Taiwan so, you should not speak on what you don’t know.

It's not that simple. Nearly all the software used to operate those chip forges comes from US based firms and are a tightly controlled export. Without that software the Taiwanese and Korean chip makers would struggle. The US cut China off from access to the software and they are hurting as a result.

There is an abundance of rare-earth metals in the desert southwest. They are not currently mined because mining costs in the US are greater than those in some other nations so mining them in the US is not competitive. However there are already new mines being developed in the US and an existing mine on the California Nevada border has recently resumed mining these minerals. It is not a problem of lack of supply.

Well, this thread didn’t age well. Nobody backpedaling off the bandwagon though.

Nevermind, there’ll be something else to fire them up tomorrow.

Inclusion of the self-ruled island of Taiwan, which China claims as its own, would have irked Beijing.

Hilarious! Don't want to irk China now, do we?

More Biden bungling on this issue.
