Official, eating curry with high military official will deter China. At least that's how they think.

I side with those who believe in Liberty Equality and Justice for All,not those who are just expressing their insecurities

Hello Mr.Emanuel, the viceroy from America to Japan. A flotilla of Chinese navy ships just passing by the Miyako strait, they were welcoming you !

@sakurasuki

Curry cooked in the Japanese Defense Forces is legendary especially in the MSDF.

Every Friday curry is served to all the personnel, Emanuel visits on a Friday. Guess what's for lunch?

Keep up the good work Ambassador!!

As long as they're in international waters they'll be fine.

(You may be surprised to learn that, unlike China, Japan and other nations don't ram and water cannon law-abiding ships.)

After the 2024 presidential elections when Trump comes into power he will instantly remove Emmanuel from the Ambassador position because Emmanuel keeps provoking China with his hated. Trump knows that keeping china satisfied is good for business so he will send an Ambassador who keeps away from all the China related matters! Trump being a businessman knows the importance of China as his businesses and his daughter Ivankas entire fashion line is reliant on China. After Trump removes Emmanuel we will never hear of Emmanuel again as he will become irrelevant and China will have the last laugh!

Okinawa's Gov. Denny Tamaki, who supports the Japan-U.S. security alliance but calls for a reduction of the island’s burden of hosting half of about 50,000 American troops based in Japan, criticized the use of Yonaguni’s commercial airport by a U.S. military aircraft used by the ambassador.

Oh stuff it Denny, If it had landed on a US base you'd still be crticizing.

Good job foreign military resident deriding the elected governor of Okinawa.

Why did U.S. Ambassador to Japan Rham Emanuel visit Yonaguni Island despite the fact that there is no U.S. base planted on the island. However, JSDF has recently built a missile base there and, as expected, he made the first-hand observation of the base as if it was a U.S. base. It may be natural for him to make such a visit, for Japan was virtually under U.S. occupation and if indeed JSDF and USFJ were all part of the same gang.

It would be embarrassing for Japan to have its ally the United States criticize a prefectural governor who has no intention of protecting the citizens of the prefecture.

Why not hold an election in Okinawa to decide whether to accept Chinese rule? Even if I wanted to go back to Japan because of the terrible governance in China, I'm sure I wouldn't be able to hold a second election lol

China is very assertive, and so its assertiveness must be checked by all means before it's too late. So must the U.S. be thinking. But, at the same time, the U.S. seems not to want to be directly involved in any conflict with China, letting JSDF to deal with such conflicts, if any.

In other words, U.S. forces’ deployment to Japan is just a make-it-believe justification for the defense of Japan. They are deployed here ultimately to not let the genie out of the bottle. So, what’s the use of building Futenma’s replacement, a completely new base, in Henoko, Nago City, Okinawa?
