The Biden administration is pressing its case for a new approach to global trade, arguing that America’s traditional reliance on promoting free trade pacts failed to anticipate China’s brass-knuckled brand of capitalism and the possibility a major power like Russia would go to war against one of its trading partners.

Hmmm, I have never ever believed in this ^ narrative. China has always dealt with others using brass knuckles, just ask Norway...well before US/China tensions.

Russia invades, terrorises on a regular basis, and for no purpose other to flex its muscle.

The fact the Biden administration is only saying it now is testament to those who really knew China and Russia and were brushed aside as quacks by the Wall st lobby, because Wall st oversell China to government for its own gains, and no one else's.

Just look at how Tesla has been treated by US government and media, whilst Berkshire funded BYD's rise. It's abhorrent.

The US wants free trade and at the same time exclude many countries like China, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba... ??? Can you see the irony in the US policies?

Taiwan, South Korea and Ukraine are like sisters. They are cash cows for the US. Wherever there is conflict, real or manufactured, there is opportunity for mass profits.

One can exclude Nazis from one's trade relations and still practice free trade. There are what, 160 other countries in the world?

Her parents were born in China and fled to Taiwan before emigrating to the US. She's a solid pick by Biden and Blinken for their anti-China agenda.

Nope. You're the one who can't see that free trade works in a rules based order, when trading partners refrain from geopolitical aggression and seek to maintain peace and stability.

“Trade should work for the common good and help set responsible standards on labor, the environment, and other priorities that reflect American values,”
