Can't you just acknowledge the fact that USA has withdrawed from the TPP-agreement! Deal with it instead of dwelling forth and back in an effort to change the U.S'-mind. Donald Trump is never gonna let Japanese cars gain the momentum they need to counter GM, Ford, Chrysler/Fiat etc. By easing import-tariffs on imported Japanese cars.

I don't think you fully understand what's happening, Resonance. The US had pressed for some rather unpopular provisions, particularly regarding intellectual property, and the TTP remaining states are now able to rid the agreement of them. That is, they're in the process of writing the US off. The TPP will do fine without the US - maybe better.

Great! The U.S. already engages in trade with most of the T.P.P. countries.

Good on America. A trade deal without trade benefits is not a good trade deal.....

Japanese cars gain the momentum they need to counter GM, Ford, Chrysler/Fiat etc. By easing import-tariffs on imported Japanese cars. what that huge 5% tariff, Toyota already outsells all American manufacturers in worldwide sales and is far more profitable than these same manufacturers. 70% of all Japanese vehicles sold in the US are made in the US, seems J automakers already have plenty on momentum in the US market, oh and they did that without having to declare bankruptcy and being saved by the American taxpayer.

Good on Japan for organizing and pressing ahead with the remaining countries to get the deal going. Without the US the strange IP and dispute settlement provisions will be scrapped making for a very strong deal. ironucally the US will likely want to join it in a few years anyway as the TPP countries will have no leverage dealing with the US bialterally.
