A crude as Trump can be, and it's a cherry picked comment, telling Abe this was Trump's way of saying, "Keep out the immigrants", something that both agree upon.

At one point he described migration as a big problem for Europe then said to Abe: "Shinzo, you don't have this problem, but I can send you 25 million Mexicans and you'll be out of office very soon," creating a sense of irritation in the room, according to an EU official.

Trumps attempts at humour in trying to emphasis a point that illegal immigration, in big numbers, is not welcomed, not just by the U.S but everywhere on the planet.

The figures are a bit off if he is talking about Europe. Something like 1 million - 1.5 million since 2014/2015. Still, thats enough to make many European countries nervous because they continue to arrive in Italy on weekly basis.

But one not need to be a fan of the president to call a spade a spade. In this case, he made an off-color joke that he shouldn't have made. He did not "threaten" Abe. The person who wrote the headline is either grossly incompetent at digesting and presenting information, or they are trying to push an anti-Trump agenda and drive revenue (clicks) to the publication.

Similar was the photo that went viral after the G-7 summit of Trump looking defiant with his arms crossed while Merkel was bearing down upon him. Yesterday other photos were released of that same exchange where everyone is smiling at one another. All those photos have been available to the media since the summit; but they all chose to push a certain narrative.

I don't really like Trump, but I also don't like a biased media telling me what I should think and selectively presenting me with information to further an agenda. I want all of the facts to make up my own mind. I'm a big boy, and I think I can handle it.

This is akin to the Aesop fable of 'The Boy who Cried Wolf'. At some point, something will happen that is truly despicable, and when the media presents it to me at face-value, I'll have already stopped paying attention. I'm getting close.

On one side, ABE did deserve to hear this. Mainly due to the way even hardworking Koreans are treated in Japan to this day.

On the other, he's a bit off with Europe. Sure Europe has a lot of immigrants, but even if you exclude Russia, Europe is almost twice the size of the U.S in population and remains 90-93% white to this day.

Europe's problems aren't immigrants, nor "muslims" per se;

We've got a ton of Asians here who work really hard and assimilate, we also have native muslims in Bosnia whom you never see any hatred for.

The issue is the huge amount of recent arrivals that are forced upon a small amount of nations, and the overwhelming amount of these new arrivals (90-95%) are of muslim faith, which does bring a huge strain on integration, thus leading to conflict.

Europe as a whole is a lot more welcoming than the U.S. There isn't a single "anti black" or "anti asian" party in Europe that I know of. Because, we don't have the issue with them. Its the religion, and the huge influx, that causes the issue.

Europeans have dealt with both world wars on its soil, and the last thing they want is terrorism, and more uncertainty, and definitely not another war (or a civil war for that matter).

Trump will not last much longer in office, so no need to get worried about anything this fool says.

Allowing them into other countries that have "better" opportunities only enables the leadership of the immigrant's country to "pass the buck" and shirk their duties to improve the situation in their own country.

Sorry, as a politics major I must point out. Abe, and the other prime ministers and chancellor are heads of govt, not heads of state. The US with its presidential system merges the two, so Trump is both head of state and head of govt. The French, with its semi-presidential system, has President Macron as head of state, but unlike most other members' heads of state (emperor, queen, president), his role includes foreign policy.

Good observation but that doesn't mean that they don't face racism or exclusion. The National Front of the UK can definitely be seen as an 'anti-black and 'anti asian' party.

The 'Front Nationale' in France on the other hand has Arab and Black supporters. It's a known 'phenomenon' that minorities living for ages in predominantly white countries are often 'hostile' towards 'newcomers' of the same background.

You've Vietnamese communities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Eastern part of Germany due to aid for labor agreements between Vietnam and their former Eastern-european comrades. For successful integration you need 2 parties and when the ruling party does nothing about segregation and exclusion that process will not succeed. Trump really doesn't have any decency at all to foreign top leaders. He knows It is impossible for anyone to be able to send 2.5 milions to Japan or other countries. Mexican migrants illegally try to enter America for a long time, it seems America's fate and gun shooting killing each other is also its fate. So finish up to build long walls very quickly.

In one meeting, Mr Trump raised the issue of migration as a problem in Europe and reportedly told Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe: "Shinzo, you don't have this problem, but I can send you 25 million Mexicans and you'll be out of office very soon."

Trump is correct. Japan does not have this problem. The reason is very simple. Japan is the only country that didn't buy into the globalism bs.

It is great that America now has a president with guts. Often his comments are twisted by the media. His comments are often tongue in cheek to make a point.

Dont worry Mr Trump, Japan has a ticking time bomb with 1.5 billion people eager to immigrate to Japan.

I like trump, I wish Japan had a leader like him.

The Japanese gov would never allow that. They’d be deported quickly. But in the USA, they could just hide in some sanctuary city. Pathetic!!

Trump is a great Leader, and PM Abe is very, very close to him. Their Summits are always a success.But I cannot understand this. Why would he propose sending Mexican immigrants (maybe criminals) to Japan? Japan will decide its own immigrant policies. Japan does not want the problems of the USA with drugs, crime, gangs and terrorism.
