Hehe, the US actually feeling a bit left out by Japan's first security agreement in which they are not involved? Good to see them talking about resurrecting the First Fleet instead of withdrawing to Fortress America :)

I'm Navy through and through and don't get this idea of creating a fleet basically for the Straits of Malacca. Expand the area of responsibility of the Fifth Fleet based in Bahrain. Maybe move their headquarters out of Bahrain to Singapore but adding a whole additional fleet structure is tantamount to featherbedding. More Admirals pushing paper. No.
