Japan purchased made in USA missile to avoid Trump pressure to enter war against N. Korea.

PAC3 defense device system and Ashore PAC3 defense device system haven't been criticized by anyone in Japan. Purchased missile will be used for displaying in a museum.

LOL extanker okay so the air to air missile testing will probably not be towards North Korea which is a relief. Kim Jong Un is a young impetus dictator and I hope for great changes in North Korea. Like the ending of slave labor in NK and Arab countries.

Maybe you don't realize that these are just relatively small underwing mounted air-to-air missiles. I suppose the article doesn't really make that very clear, but firing these little missiles at North Korea would not make for much of a show of force.

They will be tested in a place which is not of your or North Korea's concern, They would not be used against anything from North Korea unless it poses a threat to Japan, not just a fly over.

So where is the SDF going to test these newly bought missiles... Hopefully not towards North Korea as a show of force. This is a little over the top for crazy kim. He is just missile testing and mouthing off in response to Trump/Abe mouthing off.

Oh and the AAM4 is also too large to be carried by the F-35. Seeing as how Japan is going to be building those now, they might need a few missiles for it.

Except that the AIM-120C is more than 100 pounds lighter that the AAM-4, at the same length and with a smaller wingspan. Four of those under the wings means almost 500 pounds less to carry, which probably more than makes up for the negligible range difference (105km vs 120km). The AIM-120C-7 also has a new improved seeker head. Japan isn't the only country buying them, I think there might be a good reason.

US have to be careful. Japanese industries have habits of 'don't copy but make better'. Cars, TVs, medical device, and many more.
