Welcome to Japan Mr Hagerty!
Hopefully our alliance grows stronger during your time here.

Welcome to Japan and good luck!

No US ambassador to S. Korea. Finally getting one appointed to Japan. Talk about slow. Talk about dumb.

Another drone from the machine.

Mr Hagerty, please bring American children abducted to Japan home.
Toasted Heretic
And please remove your American bases, racists and those kind of hate peddaling faces from Japan.
Real Americans, of course, are more than welcome.

If America removes its bases, you would literally become a toasted heretic ala China.

There's always an excuse, isn't there? Always a justification of occupation, imperialism and latter day colonialism.

Certain weeklies say that it took so much time to get an ambassador because Trump does not like Japan. During the election, Japanese tabloids published "those" pictures of Melania right on the front, which could be seen at the entrance of any convenience store in Japan by anyone. Also, when he came to Japan in 1991 to buy up stuff after the burst of the bubble and become a big player in the Japanese property market, nobody would pay any attention to him.

It might be me, but I'm a little confused on what your implying.
Not sure what pictures you're talking about but are you thinking that the Japanese have a positive or negative feeling towards Trump?
So how did he become a big player if no one would pay any attention to him? Or are you thinking the press, elites or elected leaders?
Japanese weeklies or US?

Okay, thank you for liking "Real Americans" but the other comment you said was very cruel and not deserving. Our military forces are stationed throughout the world not on their own wishes but the wishes of people in very high places. Our American military personnel are very much "Real Americans". I am a former service member of the U.S. Armed Forces (happily retired in Japan) and am now a civilian so I guess I'm a "Real American" too.
Please keep comments nice. Thank you and you're welcome.
cleo
He didn't. There are no Trump properties in Japan.
Toasted Heretic
You certainly are. I have no beef with decent civilians. I am not a fan of the military, I'm afraid. Of any military, come to think of it. Legitimate, illegitimate, occupier or no.
How would you feel if there were, I dunno, Russian or Saudi bases in the US? Would you not fret or have some misgivings about it?
Anyways, Mr Ambassador will have his work cut out for him, unless he thinks it's going to be a cushy number like so many big business hombres tend to.

He is fluent in Japanese. His home state welcomed a Japanese automaker when American only knew GM and Ford Of cause with Tennessee Waltz. He eats Japanese food. He lived in Japan quite a while. Preys. did not know Abe speak Southern Calif English for a while but now he has Ambassador who can communicate with Japanese officials.

Unless American Base workers or GIs do certain kind of criminal action, American Ambassador will not be talking about military forces.
Pres. began appointing mainstream republicans now.
