No need to send country leader for Olympics.

Correct, because the US is leaderless right now.

Closing sounds very good. Send him in still today or latest tomorrow.

At least they are sending a government official, instead of the spouse of an elected head-of-state.

Sending someone's spouse is akin to having your surgeon's wife or husband perform the operation, even though they are not a doctor, but they are married to one.

@RG--Except sitting there watching sport in empty arenas , hob-nobbing with the emperor, and showing off the floral print dress of the day is not exactly brain surgery. Doctor Jill Biden seemed up to these minimal diplomatic tasks.

Correct, because the US is leaderless right now.

Stop whining, the US has NEVER had a leadership, it has always been a childish fight between two old, rusty and pathetic political parties, that is why China in the near future will be the number one of the world..

Well-said.

Good to see this high-level ambassador coming here.
