Seems like the easiest start is to keep closed the pipeline from the country you fear to ensure you don't enable and enrich them.

Not Japan problem.

The US and China fear Japan cozying with Russia.

Japan cozying with Russia.

Because Japan's leaders have forced the country to be reliant on importing fossil fuels for so many decades it could be Japan's leaders keep the country dependent on the Russia/Iran pairing and on states like Saudi Arabia and the UAE. As long as the fossils control the globe, the world is under their jackboots breathing their fumes. It's been a failure on the part of Japan's leaders and on global capitalism in general for not being able to correct the mistakes made during the fossil era and then find ways to adapt to changing times. Thanks to the fossil states and fossil corporations the world is one big LaBrea Tar Pit, stuck in the muck of fossil fuels. And regardless what the keep on burning fossil extremists and other far right extremists claim, there are alternatives to burning huge amounts of fossil fuels. Too bad the fossil establishment has so much power. In democracies it's still possible to vote the fossils out.

@PTsend

Don't care.

Even if Japan doesn't need fossil fuel, it's still good for Japan to better their relationship with Russia.

I'm all for all states to have better relationships with each other, but would rather see the global capitalist establishment, those controlling the fossil economy loosen their grips on us so we can breathe cleaner air and move away from the fossil era.

@PTownsend

Yeah, OK.

What's this "grip on us"? Nobody is forcing you to buy oil or gas, you are free to freeze your behind off starting this very winter.

Lots of phoney theatrics in these photos. Then when the cameras are off, off come the masks and they get up close and personal with hugs and handshakes. Then they get back on their planes and arrive home safe in the knowledge they don’t have to quarantine like the plebs.

Really, they’re just having a laugh.

Lord Putin is not affected by these gatherings of boy scouts playing roasting marshmallows..

A unified stance towards China continues to prove elusive, however, with the U.S. and Britain generally more hawkish than other G7 members.

Some countries know it well, if you are against China you will be left out of world economic growth.

It is more profitable to grow together with China than to be listening to the jealous despetrate barking of the US and UK.

Both believe that they still are in the 19th century living the golden years of the colonialist tyranny of the opium trade to China..

Russia, the reason why the eu needs a military that strictly follows Prussian tradition!

Because Japan's leaders have forced the country to be reliant on importing fossil fuels for so many decades it could be Japan's leaders keep the country dependent on the Russia/Iran pairing and on states like Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

If the US were allowed to become energy independent, the Japanese could get a better deal with the US concerning fossil fuels, but this administration didn’t allow that so here we are.

As long as the fossils control the globe, the world is under their jackboots breathing their fumes.

If you want to give up everything else in life including your smartphones, the shoes you wear, the ink you use in your pen, the colors that package your rice and everything else in life, then it’s ok, but the world overall is not willing to do that just yet.

It's been a failure on the part of Japan's leaders and on global capitalism in general for not being able to correct the mistakes made during the fossil era and then find ways to adapt to changing times.

No country and not just Japan has come up with an alternative fuel source where we can completely rid ourselves from fossil fuel reliably efficiently and for extended longer periods.

Thanks to the fossil states and fossil corporations the world is one big LaBrea Tar Pit, stuck in the muck of fossil fuels. And regardless what the keep on burning fossil extremists and other far right extremists claim,

Not just far-right. The left as well. You think Clooney with his fist yacht, DiCaprio and the hypocrite Kerry with their private jets practice what they preach? Either they’re serious or not, can’t have one toe in the water or you start looking and sounding like an idiot.

there are alternatives to burning huge amounts of fossil fuels.

Nothing to the point where it will get the world off them, nothing as reliable

Too bad the fossil establishment has so much power. In democracies it's still possible to vote the fossils out.

My gosh even the Amish depend to a certain degree in fossil fuels. Let’s just be real for a moment.

The US has stationed hundreds and thousand of troops thousands of miles away to be right next to Russian borders. Meanwhile Russia merely moving troops within its nation is "malign."

Does anybody really believe this?

It's like sending an armed gang to surround your house and crying aggression when you load a gun. Beyond insane.

Russia, the reason why the eu needs a military that strictly follows Prussian tradition!

As in fascist? What part of the Prussian "military tradition" should be emulated? I don't recall reading about any particular Prussian military success story. I know they won a battle against Napoleon before being crushed in the next and rendered completely under Napoleons thumb until the Russians moved through on their way to Paris.

The British colonized more of the world in pushy dominance and then the industrial revolutions that has brought the demise of our eco systems and wars fought over fossil fuel resources .the use of drugs and guns to gain territory in foreign lands by the UK and USA is completely hypocritical of their so called freedom and democracy agenda.

Its world dominance by the colonial powers of commonwealth led by the UK and USA .

Digital tech and weaponry is reliant on rare earth minerals that they dont have much of.

Its quite pathetic how they have used and abused so many countries and i think many countries in the world are a bit tired and weary of the UK and USA hidden agendas and striving for world dominance.

The UK and USA are not winning the tech war and don't respect other countries sovereignty and are more likely to start world war 3 then they are to "build back a better world"

Obviously these ridiculous strategies of imposing economic sanctions on countries aren't working.

Exactly. I'd bet your statement is the most accurate. Everything is just a song and dance in front of the video cameras. What is really going on behind the curtain?

I’d say it’s more like an armed gang loading guns in their house, then being surrounded by law inforcement to make sure they don’t leave their house with their loaded weapons

Doing business with China in 2021 is akin to doing business with Nazi Germany in the 30s.

Take your pick of Chinese crimes against humanity. It may be the Uyghur genocide, intentionally poisoning the west with fentanyl, the intentional spread of Corona around the world, the Chinese practice of harvesting organs from jailed citizens.

Barbaric is the only word to describe the CCP.

Authoritarians hate meetings like this, as it exposes their authoritarian dictatorships as authoritarian dictatorships. If you don't like your country being called out for being an authoritarian dictatorship, maybe you should try overthrowing your authoritarian dictators.
