This is an opportunity that must be grasped by both Governments. A full FTA with added bells and whistles that economically appeals to both economies. Exchange of specified skilled workers. Simplify student visa process.

Most of all recognition of residency, full pension, health care status after a qualifying period.

For Japan nationals residing in the UK and vice versa.

^^^I don't see how that down-voted, I'm British and that all sounds good to me. I'd particularly love for pension payments to be mutually recognised like between Japan and the US

Makes perfect sense to me. Two allies that share a world view on many issues (not all, but enough).
