All government leaders at all levels need to have more virtual meetings. Travel costs are expensive. Virtual meetings are one of many ways to reduce government spending while also reducing the amount of energy used and pollution emitted.

China should take them to the UN.

Good.
donald was an unreliable partner, any alliance with him wouldn’t have lasted long. Then there were the business interests of ivanka and jared.
Looking forward to a cohesive policy under Biden.

They could if they want to very publicly have a good cry at countries standing up to their stealing parts of the South China sea's and attempts to steal the rest of it too. Apart from being intensely embarrassed in a world forum they will get no sympathy and can not stop nations standing up for peace and a free and open Indo-Pacific region no matter how many crocodile tears they may shed.

They are already in the UN.

I understand the sentiment but I have gone almost a year without face to face meetings with my counterparts on the opposite coast and it affects my ability to do my job. For some of the technical aspects of my work I very much need to sit down with my peers on the other coast and work out what we are trying to accomplish. Zoom or its equivalents and Macroshaft Teams are just not doing it. It's hard to do real time Excel or any kind of engineering remotely. And the teambuilding just isn't the same. Somewhere there is a balance between meeting remotely for day to day stuff and meeting in person for more important meetings. You can't shake someone's hand and look them in the eye on Zoom.

The technology just isn't there to make the full switch to never meeting in person for work. Zoom/Skype/Teams etc. they all limit the ability for a proper conversation. It won't be until we get full VR where we feel like we're in the same office with people, and with mics and algorithms that are able to regulate voices the same way they work in the real world, so that conversations can be free flowing.
Until then, Zoom etc are stop-gaps until we can get somewhat back to normal.

I can work remotely with people I know and have worked with before. But new people I don't know, I find very difficult.
