Well, this is good news. Because not only are they not join the US coalition, but they’re also taking care of a situation that needs much more attention, the horn of Africa. I’m sure with all the piracy going around the shores of Somalia, that this will be definitely a strong move against it. Yes even though it doesn’t get much the web press coverage, you know it’s still going on.

Joinging the coalition could be interpreted as borderline pushing paragraph 1 of Article 9. Japan did jthe right thing in sending protection for Japanese people and property, securing it's energy route, and providing intel for all concerned parties.

Securing Japan assets out of Japan owned body of water or land is clearly violating the Article 9 and stretching it way beyond its true intention and falling right into higher taxes in the near future to pay for full fledge military Japan can't afford. It will also invite the headaches the rest of the world deals with for meddling in the areas it doesn't need to.

Japan is a peaceful nation, we will never help in the invasion of Iran.

Deployment of the JMSDF to protect Japanese lives and property, to ensure the safe navigation of Japanese and Japanese controlled vessels vital for Japan's energy supply is not a violation of Article 9.

"The language of Article 9 of the Constitution appears to prohibit "use of force" in international relations in all forms. However, when considered in light of "the right (of the people) to live in peace" as recognized in the Preamble of the Constitution and the purpose of Article 13 of the Constitution which stipulates, "their (all the people’s) right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" shall be the supreme consideration in governmental affairs, Article 9 of the Constitution cannot possibly be interpreted to prohibit Japan from taking measures of self-defense necessary to maintain its peace and security and to ensure its survival. Such measures for self-defense are permitted only when they are inevitable for dealing with imminent unlawful situations where the people’s right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is fundamentally overturned due to an armed attack by a foreign country, and for safeguarding these rights of the people. Hence, "use of force" to the minimum extent necessary to that end is permitted."

Yes, it is.

Majority of Japan's resources come from the Middle East. Perhaps escort your own tankers?

Yes Japan is peaceful. Who said anything about an Iran invasion?

Yup, keep your options open and play both sides of the fence. Keep ‘em guessing.

Sort of pathetic but yes picking a side would require a commitment. So who would you rather have on your side, the Americans or the Iranians? :)

The US should not blame Japan for not participating.

It does not disturb or damage the United States.

It is natural and good for your country. nevertheless..

The US focuses solely on purpose and implements diplomatic methods that do not fit common sense and rationality.

Without thinking, they want to profit from their allies.

To do this, not only give up the role of hegemony that has been enjoyed for a while, but also lay down its status.

Refrain from war with a country that does not invade the United States,

Do not encourage participation, do your own research that will reasonably develop America.
